What has she done before ITH and Dreamgirls? Is she some kind of soap opera celebrity or something? Too lazy to get out of bed to get my programme. I must admit, I saw her in Cats at the Palladium before she did In the Heights and she was sensational as Demeter so there is talent way, way down there somewhere, apparently she just can't play humans.

She was great in In The Heights when I saw her and the stand out for me. She was fine in Dreamgirls too. This is all a bit over the top isn't it.

This is her singing on my own in les mis. She does sound really good here but why does everyone seem to think she is so bored in Dreamgirls? Is it pettyness that she isn't Deena or understudy Deena? She just gives no effort or emotion and mumbles her lines. I've said before but the enesemble members give wayyyy more effect - I say bump up Carly to Michelle

I think it's just a thankless part, there isn't really much to do and the whole point of Michelle is that she's brought in to the group basically because she's pretty and skinny, not because she's anywhere near the same league as Effie vocally. That doesn't mean she's meant to be a bad singer or completely passive, but I guess it helps emphasise the difference between her and Effie.

She is a Deena understudy but she got demoted from 1st cover to 2nd it seems so she's probably a bit miffed about that.

I guess that could be her characterisation but I can never understand what she is saying in her dialect. It's just mumbling. Deena isn't supposed to be as good a singer as Effie and the audience can tell this but Liisi still plays her with an exceptional voice and amazing acting. I even heard the ensemble better in parts like "another photo Miss jones!" Better than Lily

Saw it today and was very, very disappointed given the hype. The director has no idea how to delve into a story and bring out the nuances to elevate it. All I see is superficial glamour and nothing more than what's obvious in the material itself. Sure, the production looks good and sounds amazing, but there's something detrimental about how overly commercial this production feels that even Amber Riley's belting cannot help save.

I think maybe what happened with the understudy situation is that understudies for each role were assigned but not the heirachy (so 1st cover, 2nd cover etc) so when Liisi was off and each girl got to perform as Deena that was their "audition" for what cover position they'd take. Just a guess, though I know a similar thing happened at London's Aladdin.

It appears they dragged Amber in from her holiday on Tuesday to perform as the cast of Orange is the New Black were in...it was Marisha scheduled to perform too! This show is truly savage to its understudies! 😂

Definitely wasn't Amber on Tuesday as Marisha was on, think you may be confused with Wednesday evening, which she was scheduled to be on for!

Amber was back from holiday tonight and ON FIRE as was the cast as a whole - and the understudy Curtis (Ryan Reid) is a great improvement on Joe, I have to say. A thrilling night and the production is in superb shape.

Karen is on tonight I'm hoping this is to make up for dragging in Amber off her holiday - just because selfishly I hope Amber is back tomorrow (no disrespect to Karen). Edit: ignore me, just re-read that they didn't do that lol

She's much more visceral than Amber. In AIATYING it was like her guts were being torn out. The hair was all over her face, she was bent double it was fab. Several audience members in tears
