The UK tour is now over. It is still playing at the Gielgud in London though. It is also not a musical but a play

I am wanting to see this in the West End. What is Row E in the Dress Circle like? I have looked on TheatreMonkey and they say there is a very good view from that seat, but is it too far away? You probably get a good view of the stage, but can you also see the faces of the actors? Thanks.

The dress circle is very far forwards and given that a lot of the action takes place on the floor so to speak, I'd say Row E of Dress Circle is one of the prime places in the whole theatre. |

I saw this on tour last year and loved it. I didn't know anything about it beforehand.Never read the book but thoughoughly enjoyed it and would like to see it again. I was in the front stalls but would choose the front circle next time as skildpadde is quite right, a lot of the action takes place on the floor

Despite the fact it is coming back to Birmingham next year, I've booked a spontaneous trip next week to London to see this! Been wanting to see this for a while so I'm very excited! I really enjoyed the book.
Booked centre Row V in the Stalls, does anyone know if I will miss much due to the overhang of the circle (which was warned as I booked them on the Delfont Mackintosh site)? I'm assuming it won't be that much surely as the row in front didn't have this warning...I hope!

Went to see this in London last week from the back of the stalls (as I said Row V), thought it was great production! Been waiting a long time to see it, incredibly faithful to the book. Of course I did miss one or two things due to the overhang of the circle, but other than thought it was excellent! May have to go again in Birmingham next year!
Also a bit surprised to see that it's closing on Broadway this September despite the haul of Oliviers and Tonys, but in comparison to other Tony Award Winning Best New Plays it seems to have done well.

Although this thread is titled about the tour, I didn't want to start a new one for the show at the Gielgud.
Just to note regarding tickets, as Theatremonkey's site says day seats arefront row (row B) at £15. However, for most shows, the afternoon before one or more of these seats appear for £15 on the Delfont M website. (they also appear on Todaytix with a £3 fee added). So, you can get a cheap front row seat without the hassle of going in person!

Mark Haddon very carefully doesn't specify what disorder (if you will) Christopher has. The point is that he's not neurotypical and that he's an outsider, not that he adheres very closely to anyone's ideas of what forms one particular disorder may take. Plus, y'know, all people are different, even all people on the austism spectrum.  |
