Tender - Bush Theatre
This is a two-hander, performed in the smaller space in the Bush Theatre. I booked this mainly to take advantage of the 4 shows for £60 deal, but it turned out to be a good choice, watchable and all over in 90 minutes or so. I did catch this very early on in the run, so the theatre was full of people taking notes. I'm also glad I went for a second row seat (seating is unallocated) as there's a bit of interaction in the front row.
The audience for this was primarily female, and it's a fairly typical two woman relationship drama, but it all comes across well, with one of the leads also dropping into character to play various associated men. There's a twist towards the end, but it's clearly telegraphed all the way through, but with such a small cast it's hard to avoid this. Perhaps another actor would have been useful, but there's enough to make Tender worth a visit, although it does already seem to be selling well.
