Thank you so much @ryan I know things now, many valuable things, that I hadn't known before. A minor clarification: a silencer only makes a "doosh" sound in films, in real life it doesn't. Could be useful to know depending on what you have planned. Well someone seems to be rather au fait with silencers. Personally, I simply prefer to pistol-whip if it's ever necessary. |

Can somebody tell me about gunshots please? Lots of sudden loud noises, as the set is a war zone, all loud noises generated from the sound desk. |

Several years ago Baz ( Daily Mail) on seeing Fun Home in the Circle in the Square Theatre, New York stated “that London needs a theatre like the Circle in the Square”. When the Bridge first opened, with Young Marx, it was noted for excellent guest facilities, delightful Madelines and a hum drum play. This production of Julius Caesar really allows the Bridge to fully show its muscles and show what a real world class theatre can do, with platforms appearing out of the floor at will.
Nicholas Hytner wants to capture what he did with Othello here, modern dress, conflict situation, however this falls short of that wonderful production, but it is still fairly well done. I was seated in the £25 seat in Gallery 2, advertised as partially obstructed, the view was fine, but being seated I felt a bit isolated from the action that happened in the pit, which gave an immersive area, only if I was 20 years younger.
As mentioned on here people say that Michelle Fairley is terrific, which I agree with, but was also impressed with David Calder playing the titular role and Leaphia Darko playing Portia, I also thought Ben Whishaw looked a bit lost in this.
The exits from the auditorium is still like a mousehole.
So Baz can now know we have a theatre, just like the one in New York, except the one in London is miles better.

Saw matinee today, had promenade ticket so part of the mob so which was terrific and terrifying in equal measure. Enjoyed the experience and as you would expect great acting.
Bit of queue to retrieve coat/bag but soon served.
All age groups in the pit so don’t let age stop you! If you want to buy merchandise in the pit it is card only. Bought Caesar badge for 50p!

I saw this yesterday afternoon, in the pit. I was a bit apprehensive about what this would involve, but it was a great way to experience the play.
Towards the end I did start to get a bit annoyed with having 'move!' shouted at us and being pushed around when it was dark and the people behind me wouldn't move, but was worth it to be right in the action.
I thought the stage design and lighting was great. Excellent performances by all.

We were also there yesterday afternoon - a little apprehensive about being in the pit (my wife and i average 59 years old) but it was fine - plenty of space and very easy to retreat to the wall for a rest. Highlight was being a matter of feet away from David Morrissey when he held up Caesar's bloodied coat at the funeral scene

It's like those "how much is a pint of milk?" quizzes they throw at celebrities. I guess a couple of pounds, something like that? I don't mind custard, or especially cream, in a doughnut if it's long and thin, but if it's the traditional round shape, it has to be jam.
