I like Chekhov and am due another 3 sisters but the blurb for this did nothing for me especially after carcrash at the young vic a few years back!

I like Chekhov and am due another 3 sisters but the blurb for this did nothing for me especially after carcrash at the young vic a few years back! I liked the Young Vic one. The one I really really disliked was the Southwark Playhouse one set in Dubai (Anya Reiss responsible for that hatchet job). |

This is OK. Straightforward production with no gimmicks (apart from the crass curtain call music). Superior fringe standard production. The version by Tracy Letts isn't anything special though, they might as well have saved some money and used one of the standard texts.

I saw this on Friday night. I thought it was pretty decent, well-acted by a mainly young cast. Nothing particularly ground-breaking or memorable but well worth a visit if you’re a Chekov fan. Like Jan Brock I was somewhat baffled by The Clash at the end. Not sure what we were supposed to take from that.

Doesnt sound like worth coming down from Worcestershire! No it isn't. Took me 40 minutes to get there which was about OK. The director Phil Willmott has been working at this level of fringe theatre for years, his productions are always OK but no more. |

However the adapter Tracy Letts (who turns out to be a bloke) is American. |
