yes please to Titanic - I can imagine it at the Royal Exchange. But definitely yes to betty blue Eyes, but with a better Betty. I gather that pig came from Australia - there are plenty of puppet folk in the UK who could find a more mobile way to bring her to life. And I know Cameron likes to soften things (Follies?) but did it really make sense in the context of the plot, and with the Macbeth subtext, to have Betty survive? It may not have been so uplifting and the gimmick of Kylie would have gone, but it would have been truer to the material. Not a bad call, Titanic could work really well at the Royal Exchange. Coincidentally i have been telling anyone who will isen for the last few years that Betty Blue Eyes would be a great choice for their Christmas musical one year. fits their audience profile well and could be staged really well in the round. Manchester, yes...Royal Exchange, no. I agree though, it could work really well there! |

I wouldn't mind 'Blood Brothers' going back on tour, even though the most recent one wasn't that long ago. But if it were to tour again, I'd love it to make a West End return, even if limited.
As for 'Betty Blue Eyes', I'd like to check it out if it did tour again, or have a limited London return.
'Love Never Dies' is supposed to be touring next year and I want to see if they've made any more changes to the show. My only experience with this show is the 2012 Australian filmed recording.

As for 'Betty Blue Eyes', I'd like to check it out if it did tour again, or have a limited London return. Suspect it'll be a long while until we see LND on the road. Phantom's tour getting canned and LND's indefinite postponement don't look good for a run anytime soon. It'll be safe bets and every willing Z-list Celeb will be crow-barred into shows to try get people back out their houses next year. |

I second a Young Frankenstein tour, loved it in the West End, and Betty Blue Eyes as I missed it.
RENT is a musical I've been meaning to see for a while but never have. Wonder if the Hope Mill version will tour? Same with Guys and Dolls.
Also would like to see the NT/Disney Pinocchio as I missed that too. I know it's more of a "play with songs" and lots of people thought it needed work but I watched the again film recently and would love to see how they did it on stage.
And can I make my usual request for Groundhog Day? Still think either a UK tour or another run at the Old Vic would be great if it doesn't make it to the West End.

Same, I can also see it being scaled down. It was a huge production at Drury Lane, so props to them for making good use of the theatre. The score really wasn't anything to write home about, but wasn't at the forefront of the show as you say. Was stunning. Although, Simply Second Nature, Must Be Believed To Be Seen & the Rerprise of it I find spine-tingling. Listen to Douglas singing that Reprise on the soundtrack is just magical. |

Young Frankenstein was a brilliant show. Got to catch it just before it closed. Everyone was promised a tour, but I heard that the 9 to 5 tour took over instead. Shame. I'm surprised Charlie and the Chocolate Factory hasn't toured yet. If it was to keep the London set or something similar then they would probably do longer runs at the venues like Matilda. As long as it isn't that terrible terrible USA version they did 2 years ago. All the kids, other than Charlie, were grown adults!
I'd love to see Fun Home again and for it to play near me in Scotland but it will never happen *a man can wish*
Tours I'd love to happen are Memphis, Groundhog Day and Billy Elliot again.

Apologies to bring another "play with music" in to this, but there is talk of the Old Vic's A Christmas Carol returning to Broadway next year and doing a US tour with stops in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. I'd love to see a tour be done over here as it looked like it transferred well into a pros arch theatre on Broadway last season.

Re-watching some parts of The Crown lately and it got me thinking about Stephen Ward as I never saw it on the West End. I'd like to see that if it toured or a regional theatre took it on. The last I heard about it Lloyd Webber was revising or workshopping it at the Other Palace.
