She tweeted a while ago around the time people were saying she was emotional on stage, and at the time people assumed it was about a relationship but the way it was worded I wondered at the time if it was aimed more on a professional level. Now with the more recent tweets it really does seem that her relationship with the producers is strained to say the least.

Yes, she tweeted at the time while she was off the last week of the Menier run that she was under huge pressure from the producers to perform and that no contract had actually been signed! She quickly deleted the tweet I think.

Shoshana Bean is playing Fanny at the North Shore Music Theatre outside of Boston. They normally do high quality regional productions. Think Leicester Curve. She'll sing, she'll riff, she'll act.
She's a better "fit" than Sheridan I think and boy can she sing, but I'm sure some of her unorthodox singing choices (for this score at least) will be disagreeable with the classicists.

If I was producing this show, id be preeeetty worried about how reliable she is going to be once the Savoy run begins. Methinks it may not be plain sailing.

It will depend on the course of her father's illness, I imagine. I wish them all well.

Ah.
So it's man trouble as well? That was the reason for the original issues wasn't it.

Ah. So it's man trouble as well? That was the reason for the original issues wasn't it. My guess would be that she's the kind of person who lurches from personal crisis to personal crisis with the regularity of a London bus. So if it isn't her father, it will be a man and if it isn't a man it'll be something else and so on . . . This will be the best understudy gig since 'My Fair Lady'!

Easy enough to find out, what was the rate of absence from 'Little Shop of Horrors', 'Flare Path', 'Hedda Gabler', 'MND' 'Legally Blonde' etc.? If you can prove it was high then you are correct, otherwise you are wrong.

I was under the impression she was quite reliable in the past?

Yes I thought so too. Seem to remember she co-presented a WOS Awards evening despite having spent the day before in hospital being treated for a stomach ailment. She didn't want to let WOS down at the last minute. Or is my memory playing me false?

Yes Sheridan Smith has been a very reliable performer - a complete professional in all previous theatrical appearances. Missing the last shows of FG at the Menier must have added to her emotional stress.

Any news on the West End cast?
I know Matthew Goodgame is in it... but not sure who else.

IIRC as well the Savoy run was (in part) scheduled around her filming commitments as well.

Any news on the West End cast? I know Matthew Goodgame is in it... but not sure who else. Two of the boys are not in it but otherwise its the same cast with some extra swings. So larger cast.

If you can prove it was high then you are correct, otherwise you are wrong. She took no time off during Flare Path or Hedda, MND she took a few days off due to illness. During LB she had scheduled holiday time off and minimal sick leave. Even to the extent that at one matinee performance she injured herself early on in the first act (during the second number) and had to go off at the interval, but after getting checked out she returned to do the evening show. In my experience she is a very reliable performer and hates to let down her audiences.
