It is a week since the news of early closure was posted here. The DM website today is still booking till January. However, there is massive availability for every day I have looked at. Also, I noticed that they have put all of the front row on sale. So, there are no long technically 'day seats' as they can be bought in advance now at the day seat price of £19.50 till the end of the run. Of course anyone turning up at the theatre on the day ought to be offered a decent bargain. As of yet it's unsubstantiated. Of course, if people think it's closing early then they won't book for it later in the run (so producers might also use it a ploy to get people to book for it before it goes). |

Holy hell this was Dull. Anne Marie Duff was just irritating. I know she's a great Actor but the writing and direction did her no favours. The design was great and Kenneth Cranham was fab the rest was so dull. Very glad it was a free ticket as if I had paid I'd have been pretty annoyed at such a boring afternoon in the theatre.

I really liked it. Maybe an age thing. Mortality and lost chances, failures, last chances and so on. Two superb actors acting , nothing distracting. I can see how this would open out to one of those popular movies of redemption. But as it is , a short Theatre piece I think it deserves attention.
Stalls were full, applause warm not wild. Next Kings Lynn ( you def need to be v old for that ref; theatrical ditty from before my time) or rather the blasted heath. Duff does Lady M. Can’t wait.

For anyone still uncertain, the Lyric Hammersmith just circulated code K97. Use at the Delmac website, best £65 seats for £19.50 all shows to 6th January except Saturday evenings. I think it would be rude not to. Thanks for the tip - booked  |

Saw this last night, got nice upgrade to row A in circle. Stalks looked fairly full as was circle but upper circle closed off. I quite liked it, both stars acting their socks off and the set was amazing. Lots of things going on in such a short play, loss, mortality. Looking forward even to Duff as Lady M. Wonder if Cranham has been offered Lear?

I saw it from the front row - the view is good. It's a play where being up close really helps.

Is there still talk of this closing early ? I'm in London just after Christmas and have one performance left to fill in my schedule, the Friday matinee. £ 19.50 seems excellent value for money, though I must admit I'm not quite certain what to expect from this play. I'm seeing two other plays that week 'Oslo' and 'Belleville'.

Yes, but I think the DM email offer was better, wasn't it? In any case, I was thinking of slotting it into an evening before Xmas/New Year, not booking further ahead. But there are plenty of other things to see if DM can do without my business!

This was the last play I saw on my holiday in November - I was shocked at the level of attendance on a Friday evening. I actually remember counting the number of heads at point point and reached 91.
