I was also there last night. I know (the original version of) the show very well indeed, and went sceptical, and this production blew me away - so much so that I'm trying to work out if I can get back to see it again before it closes. I'll write something longer when I've had a chance to draw breath - it was 3am before I got home - but I loved pretty much everything about it.
I even liked Ms. Patti LuPone, who appears to be on her best behaviour, and whose diction in 'The Ladies Who Lunch' is almost entirely - ALMOST entirely - not crap. And her pre-show announcement is genius.

I'm in my fabulous Broadway Divas t-shirt (look away TallPaul ) and some squirrel grey cord trousers. Hellos, waves, smiles and inappropriate gropes all welcome. Trying to envision what you would consider to be an inappropriate grope. A guidance pictorial might be in order.

I can't wait to see this. Very excited by the many positive comments on here.
However, we are in a very small theatrical bubble on here, I think, as checking out availability on the Delfont website - there is TONS of availability for this, which surprises me given the very limited run. However, the prices are very steep front stalls and circle all premium prices at 125 and 100 pounds - top prices (80 and 53) getting you rear stalls and dress. This partly may explain the lack of sales together with the fact that Sondheim has never been "box office" and continues to be niche. Plus (I know I will get shot down in flames for this but) Patti LuPone and Rosalie Craig are not big names outside the musical theatre clique! I can see it selling better on Broadway.

Would it sell any better if it was cheaper ? I know I didn’t buy a ticket because of the prices and so lucked out with Day Seats. I want to see it again and so will try the same method
I am happy paying 25 squid but not 125

They are doing the dynamic pricing thing so prices are fluctuating and dropping close to each performance. This Thursdays Matinee was pretty much sold out bar the top corners up of the upper circle but a week prior there were alot of seats left on sale. I think word of mouth will help make this. Demand (and intrigue) is there. People want to go at a decent price but not premium.

I thought the day seats were for the first row. Normally they'll only allow two seats per buyer. So at worse case scenario they will sell sixteen seats from the first row, and I'm sure the first row has more than sixteen seats, and I'm sure some of these people ahead of you will buy matinee too.

I got row L which was perfect.

I'm another who hasn't booked because of the prices - I've never been a huge Sondheim fan. I'll see this because of the hype on here, of course, so I can make up my own mind, but I'm certainly not going to pay £125 to do so! TodayTix or day seating will be fine for me.

I guess it’s best chance may be for best director but Stephen Daldry deserves all the awards for The Inheritance IMO. So daft that there aren’t separate play/musical director awards anymore.

I actually think Company is a lock for Revival at this point. Both King and I and Little Shop will be the nominees, but for what they have done to Company and it working, I'd be very surprised. I also think Direction is a two way race between Marianne and, as said, Stephen for Inheritance.
