I mean not to bring it back round to the fame debate we've just sectioned off, but the average audience, even the average musical theatre fan won't all know that story, so I think the likelyhood in general isn't large. Side note, don't ask me how I know, but the sound mixer is currently using 'Dominick the Donkey' for keyboard checks. You are welcome for that melodic imagery. (and the thought of Patti overhearing and deciding to have a sing-along). If you don't know Dominick the Donkey youtube that immediately. Around the beginning of November, Dominick the Donkey makes it's way onto my "IT'S NEARLY CHRISTMAS!!" driving-to-work Spotify playlist. I LOVE IT. We were learning it in choir last night. Which may or may not lead into how it's made it's way to team Company. And some people did not embrace the magic of Dominick and they will get no Christmas presents. HEHAW HEHAW HEHAW |

Does Daisy Maywood have only a minor role in this or is she a swing? No one seems to have mentioned her which surprises me because she was great in Promises, Promises at Southwark Playhouse and in the tour of The Flying Lovers of Vitebsk.

No one seems to have mentioned her which surprises me because she was great in Promises, Promises at Southwark Playhouse and in the tour of The Flying Lovers of Vitebsk. She's Susan, one of the couples. She doesn't get much to do really and the role isn't that interesting. I think she's only in the group numbers. |

Oh she was great! and not just because she's styled like my favourite 'hot lesbian' look and she's well, hot. My distractions aside, she's very funny and quite moving in the scenes she has (the couple going through divorce) but she doesn't have a solo song or big stand out moment unfortunately. Same with Jennifer Saayeng, who has some lovely scenes/moments in her couple as Jenny, but no utter standout. Both of them are utterly brilliant with what they've got though, as are their respective husbands. |

No it isn't. There's a dance solo in that slot, performed by the actress playing Kathy (the equivalent of this production's Theo). Over the (instrumental) music, there are dialogue interjections, which are usually prerecorded, from Bobby and April - their dialogue as they're having sex (they're covered, you don't see anything), which leads to April saying 'I love you' and Bobby being unable to reciprocate. Then you hear Bobby's married friends say 'I love you' to each other as Bobby and April continue having sex; the number ends in the musical equivalent of an orgasm, and we're supposed to infer that Bobby might be starting to question whether casual sex is all he wants.
In the original Broadway production Donna McKechnie refused to dance the number topless, because "not everything stops on the beat".
The music for that sequence in this production is different from the music for it in the original score, and it isn't by Sondheim, although it's built around themes from the rest of the score. The original production used a dance arrangement by David Shire; this one uses a dance arrangement by Sam Davis. In the regular version of the show, the sequence is often cut, and I believe it's optional in the current edition of the script.

So I don't understand. Press night was last night, but Shenton tweeted that reviews are embargoed until 11:30 tonight. Why? Why not just release the reviews following the performance like most shows?

Double press night- tonight is technically press night as well (and I think the one where they're having opening night parties etc) ETA tonight is technically opening night not press night, but the point still stands. |

Patti will be thriving, she never misses a show so it's great that he can show everyone here in the UK how it's done for an extended period. I agree though, the real test will be for Jonathan in that can he get through that song night after night for six months without passing out, losing his voice or bursting a blood vessel.
