Didn't Noah Baumbach say he wanted to adapt it in an interview talking about the Being Alive scene in Marriage Story? I think he'd do it well but I doubt he'd do the gender swapped version. Also is there any source for the film being in development beyond that IMDb page appearing? Edit: I just checked and he said he and Adam Driver considered it before Marriage Story so maybe not something he actually wants to pursue doing anymore.

That's a shame. I imagine it will probably happen at some point. Maybe once the Broadway revival properly opens it'll ignite some more interest. It seems very adaptable to film.

They should've just recorded the London revival cast and released that. Everyone in it was sublime, I can't see it being bettered. I can still see Richard Fleeshman if I shut my eyes tight enough.

Yeah, closing night of this show will be something I never forget. The three midshow ovations, Rosalie's jumping up and down when she got in stage, Jonny having a meltdown in the curtain call.
The best of times.

The very first preview of the london run will forever be my most memorable theatre trip. The electricity in that theatre was immense! Went back 3 times during the run and saw how they had changed things etc. but that first night was unforgettable, sitting behind Sondheim, the reactions to hearing every song for the first time etc, the set, the transition into the nightclub, jesus it was incredible!

Oh but I disagree. They had a good show in London but had a spectacular production on Broadway. Everyone in the cast - save Jonathan Bailey - was so much better. The physical production was also improved.

New York has some more spectacular moments in their production design (their 'Another Hundred People' made a lot more sense than ours, and the end of Act 1 shower was pretty breathtaking) but I wouldn't have swapped hardly anyone in our cast.

They absolutely are but it was still quite a night! Having Sondheim in the room too...it was all just too much!

I've seen bits and pieces of another hundred people but not seen or heard anything about end of Act 1 change, would you mind describing it please?

Its not but wow if I watched the show not knowing that was going to happen I would have been gagged, I bet it looked amazing.

Does it need the rain? Worked great in London without it Exactly my thoughts. I'd have found that distracting during the songs apotheosis.

Agreed. Getting married and the rain have nothing to do with each other. Unless you're Alanis Morrisette and you're trying to write a song about irony (it isn't ironic either!).

It maybe didn't need the rain, but Lenk's Bobbie was differently placed to Craig's. Her Marry Me A Little was a little more desperate and pleading, so I thought it worked.

I mean it is raining in the scene prior so theres a link. Also I'm imagining its just a soft pathos of rain, enough for you to notice and be just the extra tug at your heartstrings.
Also im a sucker for rain onstage, its just always one of the coolest effects you can do i think. real water raining down on actors??!! yeah!!
