I've never had my interest in something disappear so rapidly just based on the casting. Carousel has a beautiful score but that's confusing casting.

Wow this is the worst casting I've ever seen!! It's actually a bit hilarious.

I mean Alfie Boe is a bit shaky on the ole' acting (putting it lightly I know some would say), but I REALLY do not want to sit through Carousel watching Katherine Jenkins try to act. With personality. And charisma.
As the Chuckle Brothers would say: Oh dear oh dear oh dear.
Is this a concert version, or script and all? Why those 2 for a book musical with speaking and emotions? WHY.

Wow this is the worst casting I've ever seen!! It's actually a bit hilarious. It is designed to sell tickets To coach crowds Who rejoice at these names And who think being in strictly come dancing Is elegant

This'll be yet another production I don't see at ENO then, although unlike most where it's the production that puts me off in this case it's the cast. Please don't let any opera singers I know get cast in supporting roles or I'll have a horrible dilemma. And I thought Billy & Julie were supposed to be a soprano & a baritone, not a mezzo & a tenor!

Utter car crash heading their way. Both wrong in so many ways. Shame on ENO for this

I know it's a beautiful score that needs the crap sung out of it, but it's also a tricky show that needs great acting! Count me out!

I would rather like to see Carousel again (was introduced to it from the back row of the Barbican during the Opera North production a few years ago. However I don't like either of these two enough to part with my cash just yet. I'll wait to see if there are any deals that can entice me along.

These ENO coproductions are obvs mot aimed at the core posters here. The coliseum is massive and while Carousel is well known, it doesnt exactly have a "star" role. If this casting gets bums on seats then fine.

I am absolutely furious. So many decent MT people out there and they cast Katharine Jenkins? I'm not a fan of Alfie Boe either so this one is firmly crossed off my list. I was really looking forward to this as well

Quite an achievement of the casting dept to find two people with the combined charisma of a turnip to lead this show.
At least I can save some money by not going though

I'm not too familiar with Jenkins' work but Alfie Boe is as stiff as a board. Lame casting as agreed with the gang.

Oh dear, how disappointing. That's one off the list. Of all the people that could have brought feisty Julie to life.......just remembering the National's production with Patricia Routledge breaking hearts with You'll Never Walk alone, and being the brilliant actress she is. What a production that was. Everyone member of the cast could sing, dance and act.

One thing is for certain, they'll have no problem putting bums on seats. So I doubt the powers that be could give a toss about what people think of their acting.

It definitely came out of left field, and its definitely not who I would have cast. But I'm going to go in open minded and give it a shot.
More for the score than anything else. With the ENO orchestra playing that it'll be worth the £12 I spend on this
