Oh, well done.
I failed to get anything reasonably priced into my basket, and am not willing to spend £150, so that's it for me I guess.
I do hate the way the Old Vic website shows you seats available when they're not - it doesn't matter how many times you re-fresh the seating plan. It's pot-luck whether you click on one that is actually available!

PHEW got a £30 seat in the circle. After missing out on the PWC preview seats, deciding to wait until reviews as there was so much to see then seeing it all sold out! Extra dayseats popped up online prior to opening night so banked on that but never saw any do that after opening! But phew. Last minute but actually going to see this!

I was on at 12pm but decided not to book - have seen it twice already, and I would see it for a 3rd time in a heartbeat, but I've only paid £30 both times, once at the back of the stalls and once in the centre of the stalls, so I found it hard to justify to myself spending over double that! And I didn't too much fancy a cheaper restricted-view seat in the upper circle.
Hope all who are there on Monday have the most fantastic evening!!!

Yep, I'd love to see it again, but wasn't quick enough for anything cheaper than £150. I'll just chill my boots and keep my fingers crossed for an eventual West End transfer, or at the very least any form of cast recording.

Had exactly the same issue, just couldn't pick seats that were actually there. And I'm not spending £150. Slightly gutted now. If anyone has a spare ticket then let me know.

Wow, 150? I mean, the show is brilliant but I don't know if I'd pay that much. The only time I've ever spent more than that was for the Book of Mormon.

I've found with the Old Vic system to just use the "choose for me" function in situations like this. It grabs you a seat wherever in your price band and while it might not be perfect it's better than nothing. I rejected the initial seat it gave me for row X on the circle sides though, I have to admit! Changed my price band and got a row B LB circle seat instead.

Most of the seats in the circle and stalls seemed to be £150, the upper circle had about 20/25 seats that were £30 but that was all.

It grabs you a seat wherever in your price band and while it might not be perfect it's better than nothing. I'll definitely do that next time. It's a really frustrating experience doing it the choose your seat way. |

I loved the show and fortunately got in before the hugely inflated ticket prices hit, and I am delighted it got great reviews and has sold so well but £150 is ridiculous money for any show and what is more, they are charging £150 for seats that really aren't even good value at regular top price. That money for row E when the stage is as high as it is and you will miss things on the ground, or to be as far back as Row T under the overhang is just greed on the part of the producers and both perpetuates the stereotype that theatre is only for the rich and discourages people from going in the future as they feel cheated out of their money.

Dynamic pricing innit. There were tickets available for £21 for this performance, they just obviously sold quicker because they were more reasonable, and it was much easier to get reasonably priced tickets earlier in the run.
Considering how many £150 tickets are left right now, I wouldn't be unduly surprised if they didn't organically sell over the weekend and end up being flogged for a bit cheaper on the day...

Unless Andy Karl comes and sits on my lap and feeds me strawberries and champagne in quite the filthiest way he possibly can during the interval, there ain't no way I'm paying £150 to see it again.
And that's coming from someone who loves a revolve.

Caved and got one of the 21 pound restricted view seats in the dress circle. May only be able to see half of the show, but it is the day that I hand in the last requirement for my masters degree, and since I have no family in town, it will be my celebration for completing it.

It was a brilliant night out but... So, Monday will be my 7th visit. I've never paid more that £30 for a ticket to it. I am a huge Minchin fan and I properly love the score, the performances, the staging and the story. I notice different little things every time I go. This week I watched it from the Lillian Bayliss for the first time so got to properly see the revolves in action and was blown away by that (also how pretty the floor of the stage is! everyone in the stalls is missing that!).
I suspect I wouldn't have gone this many times in such a short space of time had it been an open ended run but I've not loved a musical on in London this much for a long time. I'm lucky that I work really near the theatre, am in front of a computer quite a lot and can just about afford to keep going back to see it! |

I disagree with dynamic pricing. However, we did book to see this for a second time (although through day seats the second time) thinking that it might not be in London again for a while and Broadway prices are really expensive.

First time I saw it was the open dress, the second time was £10 PWC preview ticket, third time was a stalls ticket reduced to £30 on the day. I'm going again to the final saturday matinee - that was my original ticket, and cost £67.50 when public booking opened. I was fairly sure back then that I'd want to see it more than once, but didn't anticipate quite how much I'd enjoy it! I was looking for a cheap ticket in the Lillian Bayliss for Monday, mind. I definitely wouldn't pay £150! I think we can fairly sure that they're going to continue to make changes for the Broadway run and that we won't get a London cast recording, so Monday will probably be the last chance to see the show as it is now. |
