No £30 seats so far today... If they do appear, I think it's more around 3pm/4pm maybe later - so do check back if you were looking to buy! But, as dippy, I'm also very glad I picked up a £30 ticket for my 2nd trip (also last night!) in case they do disappear! Ah I see, I was looking at the matinee anyway. Remaining seats now have dropped to £40 or less but there's not many available anyway. |

Glad I did go last night then. Hope you managed to keep your job too, dippy. It wasn't essential that I was there, it was only a summer office party, I work remotely so I hardly ever actually see anyone in the office so that was the main reason I should have gone. More a reminder that I exist and am not just a zombie who uses their computers when they aren't at work. Back to Groundhog Day though, I was sitting next to someone who obviously didn't enjoy himself at all. When that happens does it affect your enjoyment? It did mine. He laughed maybe once or twice and I know you don't have to clap but he rarely did. Also his phone was more interesting than the show at the start of the second half. When you sit next to someone who really isn't enjoying a performance do you feel you can't laugh as much and enjoy it less? Is that just me? I think he also glared at the woman he was with when she started to stand at the end so she sat back down (I didn't stand (and not because of him), I'm not a fan of standing ovations so unless forced up by others because I can't see I tend to stay sitting). |

Yes the prices seem to have shot up for the rest of the run with all the front stalls at £90!!! Then Premium prices at £125!!! BUT if they don't sell at these exorbitant prices - check the website around 2/3 hours before the show and look for discounts. Dynamic pricing works two ways!

Yes! The second time I went I was sat next to a couple who were clearly not paying any attention to the show and instead almost bickering, it really ruined my enjoyment of it. Last night a few people were really fidgety next to me but not too annoying. |

It would affect my enjoyment if they were on their phone/audibly complaining/dramatically lolling around. If they were just sitting there in stony silence, I probably wouldn't even notice (or, if I did, wouldn't care). I didn't laugh and barely clapped when I saw Spamalot (and was very, very clearly in the minority - the rest of the theatre seemed to be in constant hysterics). But I did still watch attentively. I never thought about whether my lack of laughter would have bothered the people around me! |

Please don't ever worry about not laughing or clapping at a show. In general I'm very very reserved and rarely laugh out loud, more likely to just smile (I don't think I laughed much at Spamalot either). I do think it's just me though because if I go to a show with someone I know and they don't seem to be enjoying themselves I find it hard to enjoy it because I worry too much about having dragged them to something they don't like and the money they've wasted. Maybe that's my problem, I want the people around me to be enjoying it as much as I am even though I happily accept people have different likes and dislikes. Edit: Since that's no longer about Groundhog Day, back to the show. I really enjoyed being able to spot things I'd not seen before like "Rita" and "Larry" as town folk at the beginning to bulk up the population. I really enjoyed being able to spot things I'd not seen before like "Rita" and "Larry" as town folk at the beginning to bulk up the population. I also noticed the various looks of the Hot Dog seller, was he three different people or just two? I noticed Rita in the opening too, Larry appears throughout as general ensemble quite a bit i think? I'm sure he's in the tap number. I only spotted two different hotdog sellers but I'm not sure there isn't 3 of them! |

Yes I agree Larry turns up in multiple places, definitely in the tap number wearing a hat of some kind as a disguise. I'm not completely sure about the hot dog sellers though, I'll agree with you though that there are definitely two. Has anyone else tried counting the number of times we see the 2nd of Feb? I tried the first time I went and think I got to about 16 or 17 by the interval. However that was counting all the doctors as one day, it could easily have been each one on different day. I had to give up after the interval though, it was too hard when we got into the montage. I assumed each person and body was a day but unless I was going to spend my whole time counting I wasn't going to see the show. (I do have a bit of a numbers thing though and often have to count the number of people on stage so I wouldn't be surprised if I was the only one). |

The programme mentions that Danny Rubin has said it's about 100 years. I actually mean how many times do we see a version of the day. As in how many times does the alarm clock beep (if only it was as easy as counting beeps). |

If it was simple I think I would have tried to count again the next time I saw it but I decided it was too hard. There are lots of things that happen that could be on different days but might not be. For example when we see the piano lessons (obviously on different days, many days apart), we also see him with the homeless man on the bench. I guess it's anyone's interpretation as to if he goes from the piano lesson to the homeless man or if they are different days. There are three lots of piano playing, so is that covering 3 days or 6 days? (Then more while Ned Ryerson is singing). Far too complicated to figure out if you ask me! |

whole piano tuition scene seems to reflect it takes very many days that we don't see. I kinda tried to count the days on my first visit, but the {Spoiler - click to view}
different suicides each count as a day and, f*ck it, life is too short (unless, of course, it's the same day and you wake up the same age, etc etc). |

They say the critics don't matter but they clearly do as since the reviews have come out the Old Vic ticket site has clearly been extremely busy! Huge amounts of seats have been sold - no availabilty at all in the gallery (sorry the Lilian Baylis circle) and seats in the stalls mostly £90 rising to £140 for Premium seats!!! Having checked on Monday this week there was tons of availability! SO basically if you haven't seen it you are going to have to fork out £90! IMO - don't!
