So if 2800 tickets were released, maximum of 2 per person, how does being at the end of a queue of 4800 result in me still being able to pick up a ticket? Does anybody know how these virtual queues work or us it just a case of multiple devices skewing the numbers?

I actually want to try and get on the site to book some more tickets for Sylvia. But haven’t been able to all day! Everytime I check the queue number/wait time has just been randomly going up and down.

The PWC tickets had all gone, there were still some singles at usual cost dotted around when I got in just before 5pm.
I've used a couple of different browsers before in booking tickets for stuff (not just Old Vic, and not today) to see what gets me a quicker result. I had a good poke around for tickets today before giving up,so I was on the site for maybe 20 minutes .. I don't know if that would cause delays for those further down the queue.
I'm so looking forward to this, I really am.

Yes to people logging on on multiple devices and shutting down the devices with the higher queue numbers, and also, today most people would just have got fed up and quit when the queue was endlessly paused. In situations like that, patience pays off. Well done.

How thin are the thin pillars in the dress circle? C26 in particular?

What was interesting was once I'd bought my lucky stalls single for the Wednesday, new stalls seats appeared for the Tuesday. I like to think that the box office or a computer was drip feeding some decent seats for those who were unlucky in being near the back of the queue. Fortunately I had pre-booked the two dates I wanted in the run, so the PwC ticket is a bonus.

With the problems the Old Vic were having with their payment system, I suspect those pop-up tickets were falling out of the baskets of people unable to pay for them before their time expired.

Not sure how I feel about the new design... I like it, it's nice to see the Old Vic making an effort with graphic design again after years of not bothering.

Booked a PWC preview ticket in the Dress Circle - a new view for me at the OV.
Looking forward to it as haven’t seen this before. As with Sylvia, if I enjoy it and there’s rush tickets, I’ll be sure to return during the main run.

Can I ask a question?
I booked tickets for the 20th May ages ago - all good. But I'm sure it wasn't the first performance, that there were other previews before then. My brain wants to say that it opened for previews on the 12th May...but looking at the calendar on the OV website, it looks like the 20th is opening night for previews, is that right?

Yup, Saturday 20th May is first preview. I'm there too on that day.

Well, who knows? I imagine they would def attend press night; depends how involved they are with the new production. You never know in previews - sometimes it seems like every man and his hog is there.

I love the design. I still have my little stuffed Groundhog they sold on Broadway.

I get the red, white, blue = America reference, and fun groundhog, but it just looks really flat and bland. Atleast the previous design had some attention grabbing colours that popped (for sake of a better word). Now it just looks like some clipart of a beaver has been stuck on without even bothering about a background. To me at least. I hope this minimal implication on the design doesn't carry through to the revised set design and staging.

Tim Minchin seems to have inadvertently announced that this will tour after the Old Vic run: The description on the YouTube video has more: "Groundhog Day is the Best Musical Olivier Award-winning show I made with Danny Rubin (who wrote the original screenplay!) and the creative team behind Matilda the Musical.
It re-opens in London in May 2023, and in time will tour the UK and beyond. Go see it if you possibly can because it's very fkn cool. Funny and intricate and sad and romantic and joyous. If I do say so myself."
