Assuming tonight's public dress rehearsal goes ahead, I wonder what shape the show will be in tomorrow evening, when I am due to see it? Not particularly looking forward now, either to that or Through The Mill, which I am seeing at the matinee. However, that leaves room for pleasant surprises! Look on the bright side: you can catch an earlier train. |

Does anyone know, when offering an exchange for later in the run what kind of seats they are offering? Seat 460mm deep front to back, upholstered 70mm 60kg CMHR foam cushion supported on a high density birch plywood base, underside finished with a 6mm capping Back 500mm top to bottom, upholstered anatomically contoured 35kg CMHR foam cushion supported on a high density birch plywood base, outside back finished with 6mm capping and the whole back fitted with a jacket cover Standards Constructed from hollow section steel and plate and complete with sprung “auto-tip” seat brackets to BS5216 ND/3. All steelwork is finished in oven baked epoxy power coating to RAL 7016 Arms 250mm in Length with profiled side panels in 12mm plywood with plywood rib to form rigid construction. |

It's 50/50 whether I go to this tonight, I have a crap bench seat and have visions of being sat there for three hours while various things go wrong, might just cut my losses and go to the pub instead.

If you book one of the first previews for a musical (of a certain scale).. You run a big risk of it getting cancelled for'technical issues' so I can't have any sympathy!

Just spoke to box office. If u want a later date then they will only give u seats amounting to what u paid for the preview. As non preview tickets start from £12 and half the preview audience paid £10 if u decide to change your date then u end up owing them money! Classy!
Said its '2hrs 30' running time. Said almost everyone has decided to come tonight coz (and I quote) 'it's free' and not because u basically have to pay more to come another night. I asked if I could have my seats moved tonight if there where any spare somewhere better but was told no. Gonna ask again with my biggest smile to the box office this evening!

I'm... not aware of any theatre where you can exchange a low price ticket for a higher price ticket without paying the difference? Am I missing out on some really good deals, or are the Old Vic in fact just doing the standard thing?

I love Marwood's avatar as it brings back memories how gorgeous McGann was in that film.... I'm one of those (apparent) idiots who booked for an early preview (13th) but it was changed to 20th with no probs - same price marginally better seat. I'm wishing now I had booked for tonight - a free performance plus another go at it later in the run. |

It seemed quite busy when I went to pick up my tickets for tonight earlier. Decided I didn't want to join the masses getting the tickets refunded and changed to complimentary ones tonight which seeing how long it took seems like it was worth it (helped that I got off a train in Waterloo).

That's a very different experience to mine - both times I've had early previews booked and then cancelled at the Old Vic this year (including tonight) they've phoned up offering to transfer tickets to a later performance at no extra charge. No fuss, no arguments, just a very organised and attentive box office. I've changed my £10 tickets to £67.50 tickets later in the run at no extra charge. |

Probably the best thing I've seen so far this year. And it was only the dress rehearsal!
It's legitimately brilliant. Tim Minchin requested we keep social media chatter to a minimum, so no spoilers from me, but I think they've got a proper hit in their hands.
The first act is funny and bouncy and enjoyable, after the interval it goes to a whole other level.
