Really enjoyed this
A physical theatre production about mental illness, it follows two patients in this Institute which is being run in an 1984-esque fashion by two doctors.
The production is fragmented between these four as you piece together what is wrong with them. Even the doctors are not right in the head.
Though you get the gist of the stories a lot of what happens is up for interpretation. There's barely even talking, just garbled sounds made by the actors. It's all told with physical movement
The choreography in this is exquisite to watch. I particularly liked how they used this set of towering filing cabinets that open to reveal all sorts of things. Great use of sound and lighting as well.
I'm not the biggest fan of dance and physical theatre and occasionally there lulls in this for me. That doesn't stop me from admiring the passion that was clearly put into the show by this group. I'd go and see them if they were ever in town again
Sadly its only on in Southampton tonight and then Liverpool next week. Anyone who lives there should really check this out.
