So Spymonkey is a critically acclaimed comedy troupe are they?

This is the first time I've seen a piece of theirs and I'm unimpressed

And only about 25% of the audience are laughing out loud. The rest (including a secondary school class) are merely chuckling or watching stoney silent. At least from what I could tell looking round from the front to pass the time

I don't know whether this group is showing their age or simply this show is meandering along with no real focus than to go through all of Shakespeare's onstage deaths through a bunch of skits

Some bright moments including the four hitting each other with assorted tubes acting as swords to make some popular tune

There's this use of a fly cam (a camera following this fly on a stick)

There is some nudity in this and some gratuity

Not as bad as some other comedy plays I've seen this year but really what's so great about this group. I can get slicker slapstick from the play that goes wrong lot

Oh and Spymonkey get your facts right. John Talbot died in Henry VI Part 1 not Part 2

Thanks for that review. I was wondering about seeing it when it comes to Chichester in 2017 but I won't bother now.

I quite liked it, but it was pretty hit and miss. I wouldn't necessarily make a special trip to Chichester for it but if you're there anyway and it's not too pricey, certainly worth making your own mind up over.

Oh I'm afraid I absolutely loved this, especially how they managed to have us rocking with laughter one second, and then very moved the next. I thought it very clever and worked on many levels. Do go and support them.
