Very excited by casting. Amused that the headshot of John Owen Jones is a bit...vintage shall we say! (Also will be nice to see JOJ NOT as Valjean or Phantom)

I'm wondering about the £5 seats in row A and B that say "side view of the stage" - I wonder if the extremely low price means that people will mostly stare at some piece of side wall (part of the set) or props or something? I mean, I was at the St. James on Saturday and at least for Rent these seats seemed pretty much great. I'm mostly wondering because I bought C4 for £10 a while ago and it's only one row up...

Me too! Have told myself if they're bad seats, but it's a good show, I'll book to see it again from better seats later in the run.

Ohh thanks for reminding me, booked for my friend Warren and I on 15 Feb in the £5 seats (the exact same seats we had for 'The Last Five Years').
It was a steal for that last show and the view was no way restricted!!
I will be going to this one without knowing this piece in the slightest!!

Yay glad people scored some good seats! I treated myself to a £15 rather than £5 given I was willing to pay more originally.

After messing about on the St. James Theatre website for ages only to discover that The Other Palace has a totally different website which I only found by using Google (great IT/PR skills at play there, I don't think), I've got one of the £5 seats. The only other production I've seen there was Uncle Vanya a couple of years ago, and while I have no idea what the set will be like for this, the view from the seats for Vanya seemed fine to me (I was sat front row centre, but the sides where the £5 seats are also seemed to have a perfectly decent view).
Anyway, £5 to see a show in London, you can't even buy a pint in most of the pubs around that area, so even if I spend two hours staring at a wall while listening to the music, I won't feel ripped off and will help clear my mind of the horror that was that Vanya production.

Marwood I sat in the extreme sides for 'Songs for a New World' which while not the most visual show, still seemed fine- you may get blocked by some set but it's such a small space I reckon however they stage it you'll get a fair chunk of the view. As you say, can't even buy a pint (or programme!) for that!

No, row B is always raked, A either is at stage floor level or the floor rises to create a stage, depending on the show. Going by the comment warnings on their plan, it looks like the stage is going to be high, I think.
Also interesting they are not selling the front 2 rows on dates after press night, yet.

The Wild Party is staged by Drew McOnie so there'll probably be lots of dance and choreographed movement of performers and scenery which will be too close and jumbled and partially obscured from the cheap seats. But, as usual, you'll love how close you are to all those faces when they're in view so I'm sure you'll be happy.
