According to Graham Norton radio interview with the cast, I'm Still Here has been re-choreographed

Did they actually say it's been re-choreographed? Tracie was hilarious pointing out that she is singing I'm Still Here as written by Sondheim, not taking liberties as some have done in past productions or in concert. And anyone who doesn't like it can piss right off. (Not her actual turn of phrase, but what was implied. Do you think she might have read this thread!) Oh god, I meant Who's That Woman - not I'm Still Here! Totally my mistake! Tracie was talking about having to do I'm Still Here immediately following Who's That Woman IIRC - and said that she's now even more exhausted after the Who's That Woman as it's been re-choreographed with more tap, making I'm Still Here even harder! |

Thank god they have re choreographed that- it was so disappointing.
Bennett seemed to have a real chip on her shoulder about people saying her version of I’m Still Here isn’t as good as others. WHO WOULD SAY THAT?! She’s stunning in that song.

I mean I wouldn’t tell her, but her version is not one of the better ones I’ve seen. I just don’t believe her when she sings it.

Also loved the faint implication about her being told about 'people online' and 'messageboards/forums' etc slagging her off... ignore them we love you Tracie!

I personally HATED her version of it. It was all for show and there was little actual understanding or real feeling behind it. It also felt oddly staged and uncomfortable at times too. Obviously don't tell Tracie I said that though  |

It's a shame they're not changing the staging to I'm Still Here. Her performance at the Oliviers was all over the place and it needs reigning in. I'm seeing it next Monday. PS - Hi Tracie |

I loved the staging of it with Tracie on the bare stage singing into the void. I've only seen this version of Follies but I thought she was great.

I can't wait to see and hear Joanna Riding play Sally. If she can bring half of what she put into Julie Jordan in Carousel, she'll be fantastic. I'm far more excited for her than I was for Imelda Staunton.
I'm seeing it next Monday.

Staunters is wonderful, but I don't think anyone could really take her seriously as a former showgirl. Especially when put next to Janie Dee.

Riding in CAROUSEL one of the greatest musical theatre performances I have ever seen -- and the only Julie Jordan I have seen to make sense of a fascinating but cryptic character. (YOu really believed Dee's Carrie when she described Riding's Julie as "quieter and deeper than a well".) I suspect she will be amazing in FOLLIES.

Still a great production, Dee and Forbes are as good as ever as were all the other returnees. Dee still glides through the whole thing in that viciously elegant way though her voice was strained at times or perhaps it's a bit more obvious now she's alongside Riding rather than Staunton.
Of the newer cast Felicty Lott wasn't quite as spellbinding as Josephine Barstow but was still excellent. Similarly Claire Moore isn't quite up there with Di Botcher yet in terms of performance but vocally she was very strong. None of the youngsters really stand out in the way that Zizi Strallen and Alex Young did last time but it's early days.
As for the main two new additions, well initially I thought they were a bit lightweight in comparison to Quast & Staunton. For all her virtues Joanna Riding isn't in Staunton's league as an actress when not singing anyway but she obviously has the advantage in vocals so once the songs start, her performance really kicks in and she hits the heights. Both In Buddy's Eyes and Losing My Mind are spectacular. She and Hanson also combine to great effect on Too Many Mornings. That's probably his best moment, other than that he doesn't give a bad performance it's just not at the same level as Quast yet but again he has time.
