Broadway.com recently did a poll for fans on which Diva's they would most want to see a bio-musical about and the results are as follows: 10. Madonna 09. Amy Winehouse 08. Lady Gaga 07. Adele 06. Beyonce 05. Ella Fitzgerald 04. Celine Dion 03. Aretha Franklin 02. Barbra Streisand 01. Whitney Houston

So what do we think guys? What Diva would we most like to see have a musical based on them? I actually really would love an Amy Winehouse one, as well as a Whitney one about her life and struggles, I think musically it could work really well.
The only issue with Babs, wouldn't her musical be pretty much the plot of Funny Girl bar the romance? the whole becoming a big star overnight etc.

Beyonce Would she make a good musical? I love Beyoncé and the songs would of course be fantastic but I don't think she has had the most fascinating life other than her music fame. If it were her life story, it would be the plot of Viva Forever hahaha... split from the band, become a star overnight!

Amy Winehouse, yes! Whitney Houston, yes. Ella Fitzgerald, yes. Barbara Streisand , maybe. I would definitely add Cher to the mix.
Some of the ones on that list are way too young (if they're still alive).
Celine Dion does have an interesting story too.
Also, she may not count as a Diva but Shania Twain has a very interesting (tragic) backstory.

Adele's would be hilarious! She's jokes, if you have heard her speak in interviews, she is such a laugh! She sings like an angel but has such a cockney London voice, its brilliant! You could almost do it as a one woman show of her just chatting and singing like Bette in Sue Mengers!

I guess people would see it though anyway. Maybe you're right. Don't know what 'Bette in Sue Mengers' is.

Bette Midler did a show on Broadway based on the life of Sue Mengers, an agent from the golden age of Hollywood. It was a one woman show where she basically sat on a couch and chatted to the audience, but appeared to be hilarious from what I heard.

I'm surprised I'll Eat You Last hasn't transferred or been given a UK production. With a name in the title role, it would do quite well

And I didn't consciously bring her into the discussion on purpose, just to describe the show I imagine the Adele one to be like, but I wouldn't say no to a Bette musical!

Kylie!
I'm sure it will happen at some point - problem is with these shows they can be 1 star trash or 5 star brilliance.

Beyonce Absolutely. But only if Katherine Ryan plays Beyonce. No-one else could do her justice.
