Two linked short plays "Premonitions" and "Repercussions", or a play in two acts, put on at the bistro in the Stephen Joseph Theatre at Scarborough (my first visit here).
A typically Ayckbourn setting in a restaurant with a woman waiting for her family and a rude Italian waiter seems to turn into a confrntation with another couple but things are most definitely not what they first appear to be and some paying about with time and space ensues to create two funny pieces with Ayckbourn's characteristic cleverness in playing with the medium.
It may seem like a gimmick but actually the plays, both set largely in two restaurants, work well in the space. And since you get a bowl of soup and some sandwiches you really can't fault the value for money at £20 for a ticket, with a free programme thrown in.
Another theatre ticked off my list.
