Not sure what to say myself. May not be a big deal. They could be signifying that the chandelier will be like what it was before, or it's just to keep people interested. Who knows at this point.

Glad to hear that plans are underway to bring it back. Of course, I bet most people will take notice of when it mentions "Some necessary alterations, according to previous reports, will be made to the production when it returns – though the extent of these will not be known until next year". So looks like we'll find out what these 'alterations' will be next year.

So anoperaghost on instagram posted a few of the ‘messages’ the phantom has been sending people and they look very similar to stuff adam robert lewis(the london understudy phantom before covid) posted on his instagram story that looked like behind the scenes pic from filming a few weeks ago. Hard to know if this is a casting hint or just convenience as they probably had his wig/makeup and costume handy...it also seems to be adam voicing the “letter from the phantom” that was posted on ALW’s facebook page too. http://instagram.com/p/CIV8V8XDQOi

Adam's a promising actor with a very good voice, prefer him to Josh personally

Guess a big announcement soon, what with this and another post on Insta with ALW trying to act and failing badly I wonder with this "big announcement" potentially coming, will they perhaps give us some more insight into what "alterations" they will be making?

As 10642 mentioned earlier, it's Adam Robert Lewis- Welshman and Phantom understudy in the most recent cast- voicing it. Though I would love for Alexander to come over to London and have a stab at the role here. His timbre reminds me of Anthony Warlow's, which is a very very good thing in my books, lol

“ Those who invested in Phantom back in 1986 have also been given closing notices.” CM strikes again! Meaning the original's run has come to an end after 33 years and they will be starting all over again with this new version? Frankly I think the "long running" title is no longer valid after being closed for more than a year. Same for Les Mis (concert doesn't count for me)

Killian Donnelly will perform Music of the Night, tonight, on It Takes Two, with ALW on the socially distanced Friday panel, no doubt being quite awkward. Bless him! BBC2 at 6.30pm.

Oh my god, he says he’s putting in the horse. This should be interesting to watch... So many of us said this would happen, and when we mentioned it, we were just dismissed by the We Love Cameron crowd. Really sad, and unnecessary. And all in the name of profits - note the point about the original investors not getting anything now. Yes, theatre is a business. But that doesn't mean RUG should continue to insist it's the Brilliant Original when it's not and mislead consumers. At least Cameron Mackintosh, for all his greed, is being honest about what he's doing (though less honest about constantly calling this 'enhanced').

And all in the name of profits - note the point about the original investors not getting anything now. Well they've had 34 years so a pretty good return on their investment... Nothing to do with "We Love Cameron" (I am very bitter over my Les Mis ticket cancellation), just recognition that at the end of the day theatre is business. You can get as emotional as you like but nostalgia doesn't make money, things move forward, that's life.

"... and a brand new chandelier ..." Presumably the one built for the tour that was supposed to be unveiled in Manchester...
