Saw this on Monday evening before Love Never Dies in Concert on Tuesday, probably the closest one will ever get to a two show day of this anytime soon. But just wanted to say this current cast was great. Jon as Eric was really great to see after loving him in other roles prior, the Raoul at the moment called Joe was sublime. His voice was great. And finally the Christine, Lily Kerhoas. What a voice, so beautiful. Had this really powerful belt behind her voice which I found worked really well for the role. Also actually the current Meg, Maiya Hikasa was amazing too, her acting choices were phenomenal and her voice once again, was stunning.
Also doing Phantom and Love Never Dies back to back was really interesting, had never seen or heard LND before but thoroughly enjoyed that too.

Any tips on getting tickets next Monday relatively cheaply? It has been on TKTS for weeks and weeks but then it's disappeared this week and I was really counting on that!

Any tips on getting tickets next Monday relatively cheaply? either check TKTS on the day or the LW website sometimes reduces their prices on the day or try the day seats online via the phantom website

Speaking of the LW website, the booking system has changed slightly - currently it seems to be allowing you to leave single seats, which has been the bane of my life for the last couple of years (I know the trick when you only want one from a block of 3+, but couldn't ever do anything about wanting one ticket from a pair, which was annoying when it was selling especially well in the spring/summer). Although this also means it's currently seemingly letting you book only one of a pair of box seats, which seems like the setup for a very strange blind date...

Went last night. A front of house girl said that they've taken it off Today Tix because it's selling out all the time. It was packed last night. Amazing for a show that's nearly 40 years old! James Gant was on fire and I am obsessed with Kelly Glyptis as Carlotta, her voice is heaven. Saw Eve Wilson as Christine and bless her she seemed very nervous. Great show on all fronts.

There's more: Well done to #3rdcover Connor Ewing ( @connorewingldn ) who briefly played The Phantom while Michael was getting ready! And: Well done to Eve Shanu-Wilson ( @eve_shanuwilson ) who took over the the role of Christine Daaé for act 2 of @phantomopera tonight! #1stcover All from West End Understudies on Twitter /X.

Wow, that sounds like an eventful night for cast and audience!
It's probably just because I see the notices for covers (and obviously no one's making announcements if the full cast is on) but is Jon Robyns off a lot? I feel like most posts I see online lately are people raving about having seen James Gant. But maybe I'm just noticing those more.

I saw a tiktok that said that it sounded like there may have been an accident during the start of The Rooftop scene which led to the change in Phantoms — apparently it was an extended interval too. I hope Jon Robyns is alright!

He has just put on IG that a piece of scenery fell on his head, taken to A&E but is OK. He had concussion.

To be pedantic - the production is 2 years old, the show is nearly 40 years old. They were just expressing surprise that it is still popular despite having played almost continuously (in two different productions) for that length of time. The Mousetrap effect!

James Gant is stupidly good. His final lair is just wonderful.
I hope when Robyns leaves that they give him a chance at the role full time. He deserves it.
Matinee was packed. Show is in really good shape.

Does Gant do all of the matinees? No idea - I think he's doing all performances at the moment whilst Jon recovers from his concussion?

Agreed on Gant. Particularly enjoyed how he delivered "an unparalleled delight" when I saw him.
I know Jon was back in the show Thursday but no idea if it was a once off to see how he was faring or what. Saw a couple of cast members post about him giving a great performance after the week he'd had.

I have a seating question: if I want to sit in the stalls, fairly close to the stage, but not right under the chandelier as it descends, what row should I pick?
And I guess more broadly, I’d be interested in hearing what everyone’s preferred seating area for this show is, and why.
Thank you!

Yesterday I saw sat row B of the stalls. You could hear the cast members talking when they're mics are off (all in character - I'm assuming there is a proper word for this?!). My favourite moment was hearing Mme Giry go up to some dancers as the managers are talking and I heard her say "You look happy. Well don't". Made me chuckle!

I've booked seats in Row B. They're kind of far off on the right side, but the reviews on A View from My Seat say that we won't miss much. (And of course we know the story by heart anyway.) We're going on Saturday night and are really looking forward to seeing this production. For some reason, I usually end up seeing Phantom during a matinee, so I'm excited to catch an evening show. : )

Apologies if this has already been asked but it’s hard to keep up; is there a day that the leads don’t perform?

is there a day that the leads don’t perform? Paige (the alternate Christine) performs on Tuesdays and Fridays. If Jon or Joe aren't on it will be scheduled holiday or unscheduled illness as they don't have any set days off per week like Christine
