Joback, everyone - really?! I thought his voice was incredibly thin and reedy when I heard him sing! Me too. He sounded dreadfully out of place in that line up at the 25 concert. He looked like he wasn't convinced he should be there too!

Saw JOJs last performance (for this run) tonight. Had to chuckle at the end as during the bows he ripped off his wispy wig and mask the pulled off the top of his lip and threw it into the audience. It landed between my feet and those of my friend.

No lift or drop on Saturday evening... Lovely performance by JOJ.
My only experience of Joback was at the RAH where he really didn't stand a chance next to the Phantom greats.
Saw the "face fling" spinning over my head (I was front row to the left). Couple sitting to my right, centre stalls, did annoying "conductor hands" through a couple of numbers, I was sore tempted to lean over and slap their hands down (grumpy moo). The guy was doing an excitable puppy impersonation, telling me as I sat how much I was going to enjoy it. "Oh, you've seen it before? Well, we've seen it 5 times"! "I might give my book to the conductor and get it signed by everyone in the interval".
Weirdly a really good friend of mine was sitting 3 seats away from me, Christmas present from her kids. 3 seats away!

Was at Ben's first show tonight and I have to say I was pretty impressed for saying it's the first time he's ever played the role. Quite a vulnerable Phantom but has power in his voice. Look forward to seeing him again in a few months when he's fully settled in.

Maybe he has improved since then? Neither me nor my auntie were impressed with him.

Just been to see a Youth Production of Phantom tonight in York...It was absolutely breathtaking; Possibly the best AM DRAM show I've ever seen.

Does anyone know if Scott Davis has any planned dates coming up? Nothing against Ben, but I've never seen Scott before.

Wish I could be there to see Jeremy. He was fantastic as Sweeney Todd (Harringtons Pie Shop version) and is currently a wonderful Javert!

Intrigued as to what has happened to all the resident Phantoms? I mean, Ben's only been in it for 5 minutes, and off already? And where are Scott Davis and Kieran Brown?

I know that Kieran is sick - presume the other 2 are too, would be a surprise if they allowed holiday so soon after a new Phantom started!

Scott is currently doing a series of concerts with Michael Xavier, Robyn North and Sally Ann Triplett - not sure how long the series is, though it can't be too extensive as MX must be starting rehearsals for Sunset Boulevard reasonably soon.

Slightly off-topic but I'm glad to see Robyn North is still performing. I hadn't seen her name come up in anything for ages. I did first see her in Phantom, to link this back to the topic. Scott Davies seems to mange to get time off Phantom to do other things every so often. I saw him in a small role in ENO's Tosca back in 2012, which must have been about a dozen performances. I suppose it makes a change for him, given he's been in Phantom on & off for years.

I have a question: When Emmi Christensson is leaving in summer and Lisa-Anne Wood will be alternate Christine, who will be the new cover Christine instead of Lisa then?

Family outing with my sister & brother to this this evening..my third visit but not seen child & teenagehood.
Of course house was full (amazing how this show still gets big crowds) I was little worried it being a show that attracts potential bad behaviour patrons but luckily everyone was pretty much on best behaviour tonight.
It's so wonderful to have that score played out in its original setting (with Phantom songs so often covered) & the staging still is exciting.
I was impressed with Ben's Phantom, someone already mentioned his brings a vulnerability to the role & it really works...I may have a wee tear at the end!!
Thank you so much TheatreMonkey for your wonderful site as with my sister only announcing last week to let's do a show & go see a blockbuster..the fear it's Easter holidays crept in but we were not prepared to pay over the odds either!! I read the advice & settled that Grand Circle was an option providing we could get seated in the right section & was happy with £54.
Decided to attempt booking direct via website, got allocated C13-C15 - I spent a little too long reading back seat reviews at TM that it timed out,..to my horror after seeing fairly positive feedback for seats there..it suddenly when I tried again it said 3 seats in Grand Circle were no longer available..in a fluster I called the box office to try secure those seats only to be told the system wouldn't have let me anyhow because C12 will become a single seat & it won't allow you, I was then offered 2nd to last row in stalls which I kindly refused & then stalls row R (refused again!), in a fluster I went back on & opting to see what seats we could get in the next price band so put those in & then noticed that the row C remained there..after pressing release, I went through the system again & booked those row C tickets...success story & misinformed by Box Office!! A nice single chap enjoyed the show next to us this evening & loved the view of the whole stage from our seats (great in some of Phantoms moments up in the middle arch too!!).
Always good to go back to a classic once in a blue moon!!

Last time I booked on Really Useful's website, you can select your own and it allowed me to leave a single seat.

Couldn't select the actual seats on Phantoms website but yes does seem you can leave a single seat (as you should), which it did in the end...didn't help when called box office I was told I wasn't allowed those seats & I should go sit at the back!
Nice victory was had but what I forgot to mention was that we arrived to our seats to find 3 ladies sat in them, we soon discovered they were actually seated up in the balcony- we felt a little guilty having to send them up - wondered if any one on here has ever done the balcony? The view just looks so restricted & far away - I did read on Theatre Monkey that some of the ticket offices sell up 'balcony' as being 'Grand Circle' & perhaps that happened to our ladies.
Listening to the Royal Albert recording this morning!

Next time, use this link, where you can select your own seat: reallyuseful.seetickets.com/WEBPAGES/EntaWebShow/ShowDatesCombo.aspxIt also let me leave a single seat, but I didn't finalise the booking, so they might have noticed during check-out.

Also saw POTO yesterday, only here in Russia. Just in case anyone was planning to see it here, Russian production is closing in the end of April
