A Temporary Replacement Phantom is joining for about 2 Months as the New Phantom is Unavailable due To Scheduling conflicts. In Addition also a New Alternate Christine will be joining. New alternate Christine is coming off another CML production, I believe Les Mis tour has just finished…..Lauren Drew? She would be good. |

New alternate Christine is coming off another CML production, I believe Does this mean Holly Anne Hull is taking over as Christine or leaving the show? Hopefully the former! If she were leaving too (in addition to Lucy) they'd presumably need two new Christines coming onboard, wouldn't they? To keep it at four people who can do the part? Lauren Drew is a good shout - it would be stretching the semantics of "new" slightly but I'd still love to see Beatrice Penny-Touré return, fresh from the Poppins closure. This is largely selfish as I missed her last year! edit: sorry, thistimetomorrow, I just missed your reply before I sent this! Off to stalk the Les Mis tour cast page ... Paige Blankson? |

My understanding is that at the moment it runs principal (Lucy), alternate (Holly - who has weekly scheduled shows, and is first in line to cover when Lucy is off), understudy/1st cover (Anouk van Laake - covers for both Lucy and Holly when necessary, but doesn't have regular scheduled shows), understudy/2nd cover (Eva Shanu-Wilson, who I don't think has been on for Christine yet since joining last August). So if it's *just* one additional Christine joining, and as an alternate rather than the principal, that would suggest you're right.

"THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA at Her Majesty’s Theatre today announces Jon Robyns as ‘The Phantom’ from Monday 3 April 2023, Holly-Anne Hull as ‘Christine Daae’ from Monday 23 January, having been the production’s alternate Christine Daaé since 2021, and Paige Blankson who joins the production as alternate ‘Christine Daaé’ from Monday 13 February, playing the role at certain performances.
From Monday 13 February to Saturday 1 April, Earl Carpenter will reprise his role as ‘The Phantom’."

Called it with Jon, it did make me wonder!!! So pleased for Holly! (You never know with Killian he keeps going back into old Roles.. So im guessing does that mean Commitments (even though Ian currently Deco you just never know), or Come from away when it tours)
