I've got my two free tickets for the Book Of Mormon on Thursday and contrary to what I posted previously we've decided not to use them. Our allocated seats are in row K of the Dress Circle near the far side, lowest price point I think. I don't live in London, and always book seats as close as possible to the front row of the stalls. I can't justify the cost of travel or journey time involved to sit so far from the stage. I've made similar decisions recently about several almost-free seat filling opportunities for the same reasons
If anyone can use them send me a message with email address and I'll forward the email and e-tickets to first to ask

A-May-Zing
What an atmosphere! Great performance all around and all the changes work very well. Nothing that changes the plot as such just a few of the more obvious racist references removed and a few other subtle changes.
Great night.

Had one of my sisters-in-law with me last night. [She hadn't seen it before.] She loved it. She said she hadn't laughed out loud for ages.

My ears are still ringing from last night. Absolutely incredible atmosphere! The energy from the cast was infectious and the audience gave that energy right back to them. All of the changes worked well and the show felt as fresh as when it first opened.

£20 day seats announced!! Think I will do that to check back on on this show and see the changes. I loved it about 4 years ago and was worried about how it would fare given recent world events.

Can someone elaborate on what changes have been made to the show since it open after Covid-19? Are these changes to the dialogue/jokes, or just updated staging, lighting etc?

The changes are mainly to the dialogue and choreography.
As others have said, the changes are very subtle. From press reports I expected more drastic changes.
Saying that, the show is still as perfect as it always has been. It was my first time seeing the West End cast last night and it was an absolute treat. Every single member of the cast was excellent.

I did enjoy this last night from my long-standing booked seat near the front of the stalls. A very receptive audience, although most completed ignored the instruction about masks which was given to them as they entered (and displayed prominently on signs held by the ushers). I actually heard someone behind say they were expecting to get Covid (I couldn't tell if they were wearing a mask or not).
It was a very young audience and lots of people who (again based on overheard conversations) had never seen the show before.
There are a lot of line changes (and other small visual changes to bring this one more up to date). All for the better. I just can't imagine how uncomfortable it must be to have to say or hear "she's such a hot shade of black" every show. Similarly, the insensitive reference to Chinese people has also been removed. But it is still okay to laugh about Nigel Farage, so thankfully the funniest joke in the show has survived.
They've gone very young looking and camp with the Mormon ensemble this time around, which works well. A huge amount of energy displayed on stage.
It is so odd to see Haydn Oakley in this in such minor roles, coming straight from being a lead in Anything Goes.
I shall have to try and see the current tour cast now to compare things. But the West End production is in great shape and ready to run for a few more years.

I agree, it’s like Primark being mentioned in Lion King or Aladdin, it makes no sense I completely missed this when I saw it. What was the joke? I can’t remember the line exactly as I want to remember the better bits but stealing from the Lion King Thread (and I know the line was there when I went on 31/10) …. I'm sure the Primark jokes weren't in the script back then … The show began with what, for most shows, would be Finale-level brilliance and artistic spectacle, as the animals gather at the watering hole. But - having got the amassed cast of characters there, there's nothing for any of them to say/do (why not a big speech from the elder King?). Instead, a curtain with African print design descended to screen them, and in an old fashioned front-of-curtain scene (like pantomime), some rodent 'thing' described it as looking like "an IKEA shower curtain". How to kill the mood, and negate so much of the art! And an incredible insult to African design. Now Primark get a look in?! Maybe I took it too seriously, lol! But I'm not surprised if it's treated by audiences like a play facility at an out-of-town industrial estate, only missing a ball pit for kids to role around in. …

Went to yesterdays matinee performance which, from what i could see, was very well sold and I only noticed one or two empty seats. Youngish audience (well young to me) people in their 20s-40s and not too bad as far as mask wearing was concerned. About 60% in the stalls which is pretty good these days. I have seen BOM several times over the years but not enough to remember actual lines of dialogue so cannot comment on the changes which others have mentioned. Sounded the same as before to me which I was pleased about. But I don't remember use of laptop/tablet on previous viewings. Still a very, very funny show and the audience loved it. One thing I noticed was that the Elders seemed very young and I also thought and played the roles a lot camper than before which works really well. I couldn't find out who was playing Elder Price but I don't think it was Dom Simpson, however he was excellent. But the show stealer was Tom Xander as Elder Cunningham who was fabulous. Great afternoon out.

I also saw Ben Tyler last weekend (Saturday matinee) and thought he was an excellent Elder Price.

Great afternoon out. Was it Ben Tyler? He’s new to the cast and he was on last Friday as Elder Price. I thought he was brilliant! I don't know I'm afraid. Asked one of the FOH staff in the interval and she said to look at the cast board in the foyer at the end byt when we left we were directed out via a side door so didn't get a chance to look.

Attended last night with a bargain front row day seat.
I see they had had a show stop at the matinee due to a fight in the crowd (no idea what more happened). No such issues in the evening. The evening cast was great as usual and most of the crowd even wore their masks.
The cast board is very badly placed (behind where security staff are based), so I managed to get the main cast but not the covers. The leads were all on, although the Doctor was played by Ashley Samuels, who isn't listed on the website. There were two guards listed on the website, but only one on stage, so I presume that was a late change. And I'm sure some lines were redistributed to a female cast member.
For the Mormon boys. Thomas Audibert and Luke Redmore were both off. George Grayshon and Joseph Davenport were on.
An outbreak, perhaps?. Being at the front, I did overhear the conductor allude to them having had to bring in different musicians. And both shows today (Saturday) have been cancelled. Being on the front row and close to performers who were no affected, it will be interesting to see if I get pinged by the NHS Covid-19 app.
I had an elderly American couple sat next to me. Based on their reactions, I'm not sure they chose the show they would enjoy the most (but I'm sure their options were limited). For me, this one of those shows that never fails to cheer me up.
They were collecting for Acting for Others as well, so a speech at the end from the two leads (where I was reminded that they finally have leads from the UK in this). No sign of anyone actually collecting money though, so maybe they were short of ushers to do this as well. I suspect the days of cast members themselves holding the buckets has had to go.

Along with & Juliet, the matinee for the Book of Mormon was my other end of 2021 show. One of the front row £20 tickets on sale on the day, which are an absolute bargain (especially as this show continues toot quietly sell out - or get very close).
I have Anything Goes playing in the background and I'm reminder how odd it is how odd it is to have Haydn Oakley in such a small role here (even though he is fantastic in everything he does).
Pleasantly surprised to have all the leads on in these Covid times, including the perfect pairing of Tom Xander and Dom Simpson.
I overheard a conversation near me about how the Mormon boys were perfectly cast as they looked autistic and the person speaking worked with a Mormon who was autistic. The bizarre way some people think (no offence intended to the cast, I just find myself distracted by how they manage to find so many good looking people to fill the roles).
And that is almost it for 2021. Roll on 2022!

I saw this for the first time last night (Friday). Not sure why it took me so long but I wish I hadn't bothered.
Dated, racist, juvenile and mostly unfunny with it. Probably edgy and acceptable when it opened, but for me no longer.
No complaints with the performances as the cast were excellent, but the material needs an update. Or let it die.
Having said that, the theatre was full with hardly a mask in sight and a lot of people were absolutely loving it. They were mostly very drunk though. Especially the lady who ran out through the fire exit to throw up.
