Oh :-( Thank you! So I need to catch him one more time before he leaves. Hmmm, seems like something changed? To be fair, I asked him about it a while ago.

I was there last night for the first performance of the new cast (although lots had stayed from last year).
Dave Thomas Brown is a very good Elder Price. I know he joined earlier in the year and is only on for a few weeks as emergency cover, so glad to have caught him.
I saw Tom Xander last time (May 2018), as he's been on a lot over the last year. He's only officially just been bumped up on to main Elder Cunningham. Both leads playing the leads traditionally, but very good with it.
First time seeing Steven Webb (he was off last time) and he makes a funny McKinley.
Also the first time I've ever sat near the front (second row Stalls centre). The prices have dropped a lot in the past year or so to make this more affordable. It is, obviously, an excellent clear view and you pick up on a lot of details, including just how smiley all the ensemble all.
For the rest of the ensemble, I don't know the show well enough to say for sure who's new. The cast list on the website isn't updated yet. But I think the other leads have been with the show for a while.
The Nigel Farage gag still gets the biggest laughs and applause of the night.
I know the 42nd Street fans will ask about Luke George. Excellent dancer as you'd expect. He's not in a featured role, but he does get to play Yoda. Last time I saw him, he had tears in his eyes and the same last night from an instant standing ovation.
The ensemble were very polished for a cast change, with only a few tiny missteps obvious which will soon get sorted.
At the front, you do get the hear the strange comments from the people around you, including the lottery winners (who almost all sounded American). It sounded like nearly everyone who entered the lottery had won. Someone surprised that they had trained dancers in the show. But apart from listening to the general naivety of people who don't regularly go to the theatre, it was an exceptionally well-behaved crowd.
It's a fun show. Not one that's a regular on my list, but I expect I'll catch it again later in the year.

I caught up with this on Saturday afternoon for my ninth viewing. It’s still in incredible shape and hasn’t lost any of its charm. I loved the new lead cast. Dave Thomas Brown made a fantastic Price, great vocals and he really looks the part. Tom Xander - probably the closest I’ve seen to Josh Gad over here, he’s great and hits every punchline.
Great audience response.

Tom Xander stood out for me, what a voice he has ! The show is in safe hands !

Middle of A is off-sale, just the ends on sale. They probably just know they won't get that many ballot entries midweek matinee in November. I see.... I knew they sell two front row tickets in the middle of the row but I had no idea they sell more of them. Two tickets are already sold. Everytime I tried the lottery (many times :-D ) they had 22 tickets. I need to win the lottery on that day it's not a good news for me :-) Thanks anyway :-)

Saw this again this evening for the second time this month.
Again, absolutely fabulous. The no-deal Brexit gag got rigorous applause.

Cunningham calls Nabulungi 'No-Deal Brexit' in the bit where he used to call her 'Nigel Farage'.

Usually he leaves the funniest one for the last time (before he calls her Nala, which is scripted). At his last performance, Josh Gad called her Nikki M. James in this spot in the show.

So looks like Jacob Yarlett (the tour standby Cunningham) flew over from Amsterdam to cover the role at the Prince of Wales tonight! West End Debut. What a great story that is.

Is the cast change date confirmed anywhere yet? I saw the first performance of the 2019 cast and it would be fun to see the first performance of the 2020 cast.

I wouldn't mind George Grayson knocking on my front door...
(are we still allowed to say this kinda stuff anymore or is it off limits?)

Saw this again last night (4th time). Absolutely sensational performance. Blew the others right out of the park.

Yes, cast change was a couple of weeks ago. As far as I can see, the principal cast have not changed - all the changes are in the ensemble cast. Some of the cast members have been with the show for a very long time.
