Got the new brochure for the Edinburgh King's & Festival theatres yesterday. This was advertised as a co-production from Music & Lyrics and Aria Entertainment.

20th - 29th April, luckily can look at the brochure online! Thanks for the heads up zsazsa! It's also in association with the Edinburgh Festival Theatre, so wonder if it's premiering there?

It's certainly a lot more enjoyable than most of the W/E at the moment. I like that Producers are willing to take a chance on name recognition stuff like this and The Wedding Singer. It makes a lot of sense to tour them first before risking a West End run, but I saw a high quality semi-pro version of this a few years ago, and it's cute enough to appeal to the young and their parents.

I wonder if the Edinburgh theatres have jumped the gun a bit.. No mention of this yet by either Aria or Music & Lyrics from what I can see. Surely there must be an embargo on publicising new productions in theatre brochures before the producers have made an announcement?

You'll just have to wait for the announcement... |

Great. Seeing some good musicals hit the roads, which otherwise wouldn't get a West End theatre. Please God they cast someone I would pay to see more than once, rather than someone to avoid. There's been too many shows this year that I would have gone to see , but for the casting. I end up seeing something again because its got someone excellent in it, and ignoring the ones with the worst name casting. I get it that some names are very good in MT roles, but the biggest names that can sing are not going to end up on tours, and many that do are just proven bad casting. |

I remember reading somewhere Brian Conley saying that he would love to play Gomez Adams. I'm not totally familiar with the Adams Family, but I would consider seeing this if he was cast! Music & Lyrics may need some sort of name to sell this so who knows...maybe Jason Manford or Lee Mead as Gomez considering they are their Caractacus-es?...or Caractacai? Michelle Collins or Claire Sweeney as Morticia?
Also announced for the Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury 23 - 27 May 2017. Must say, I do hate it when in the event description they say "Featuring a LIVE orchestra"...I mean...YEAH? Obviously! It somehow cheapens it, suggesting that a LIVE orchestra is rarer to find in a musical, I don't know...  |

Really looking forward to this. Saw the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland production at the Edinburgh Fringe two years ago and loved it, without doubt the most lavish production at the Fringe I've ever seen. It would be great to see Caissie Muise who played Wednesday get a chance to perform the role again, it will be hard to top her take on the role.

Loved the Broadway production, I am the only person who seems to loved it though. I really liked it. Just for me the last 10/20 minutes seemed to drag a little musically. Loved most of the songs, the cast were gray, illusions were great. |
