Brilliant original post - well done! But gosh, some of these tours are gruelling aren't they! No wonder the "names" drop in and out these days. But think of the poor ensemble - digs week after week and having to sign up for the whole tour. Some of the weekend journies between venues too. Southampton to Liverpool, Wimbledon to Wolverhampton, Torquay to Liverpool,Wolverhampton - Sunderland, Belfast, Blackpool, Edinburgh! Lets hope the trains are running!!!!

Is Memphis not happening then? Shame if not. Cracking show that deserved a longer life. Although, if my friend's uncle's ex-wife's former roommate's chiropodist is correct, another DiPetro/Bryan musical may well be found out on the road next year...

Thanks for all the very kind words so far, took me a long time to compile this data.

One great thing about do this thread, is that you can reference back to it. Once a tour is done information on it gets erased very quickly, so it s hard to reference the past, as you cannot sell tickets to past events. Also it is interesting on update this list and see how a tour grows, as producers do not announce the whole tour at once, maybe like Hairspray and La Cage, they have only several dates announced to gauge demand.

I agree the road is 'gruelling' and some of these acors seem to be either in the theatre or on the motorway.

The commitments has been taken off of Theatre Royal Brighton's website so don't think it's coming here no more.
Your list has further depressed me on how little Brighton gets. Let's hope we finally get the funding to get Brighton Hippodrome reopened and then maybe we too can be starlets on the touring scene

Haven't heard anything about Memphis for ages so not sure that one's happening...Miss Siagon is 100% happening, first dates will be going on sale in the next month or so...Evita is the recent Kenwright version.

The Commitments is still listed on the official website as coming to Brighton. Whilst compiling this list I checked every date against the official website.

That Musicaltheatrenews website has many mistakes.

Cannot put Memphis on the list, nothing confirmed yet and I don't think it will now tour, the West End tanked so badly the producers must be very reluctant because of this, also this show wouldn't be a cheap show to tour, where something like Spring Awakening would be,

My favourite show, playing my local theatre, first time Hairspray has come to Dartford and it is doing 2 weeks, so they anticipate steady business.
Hairspray could easily go back into the West End in one of those big play houses and do well.

Great idea Phantom!! Thank you. Very hard to keep up with it all and the "musicaltheatrenews" site never seems to update very much.
Great to see the Hall for Cornwall doing so well for tours. Torquay should be blown up and rebuilt as a decent venue. Plymouth Theatre Royal very quiet on the tours, now its not like it used to be, when I worked there part time. The Bristol Hippo is a great theatre if you sit in the stalls and has great staff in the box office.
