No real surprise this isnt selling. At least it has short run. Hoping for better news in day or so with winter season announcement Until the reviews come out And then people run like little sheep to buy tickets It's a wonder the publicly funded venues even bother anymore with variety of programming with this attitude In fact the cast are all amazing actors having appeared in major plays in the WE, Almeida, YV, RC and NT The story is very famous in china And the playwright doing the adapting well respected It may not have been your intention but your post came across as really dismissive as well as ignorant and arrogant and shows the actual and real narrow minded attitude of this country which lies just beneath the shallow surface We are supposed to be encouraging diversity in theatre And this play shows diversity in the programming cast story playwright and director The RSC aren't programming to solely satisfy a native middle class ego Believe it or not It's a 4 week run in the smaller of the 2 auditoria Get over it "Better news" Laughable Queen Anne was barely sold until it received excellent reviews and then quickly sold out Audiences being stupid and incapable of making their own decisions and accurate judgments is their own problem |

- Vice Versa: very Up Pompeii, all short togas. Apparently looks 'fab'.
- Salome: Rumours but not definite is Sher will be Herod (groan)

Popped into sua last friday. Shop has been redesigned in the close season, not before time as the previous layout was disastrous! Picked up a Julius Caesar prog and noticed that it now says they intend doing the complete works "within eight years". Crikey! At this rate they will have finished at around the same time as Doran announces his departure. He wont carry on past ten years.

At this rate they will have finished at around the same time as Doran announces his departure. He wont carry on past ten years. Pretty easy to fill in some of the future seasons. What Shakespeare plays has Doran not directed yet ? Henry VI & RIII and what else ? Romeo & Juliet cross-cast with Troilus & Cressida. Pericles. What Shakespeare parts are left for Sher ? Henry VIII. Falstaff in Merry Wives in a "Fat Blokes" season. Surprised he's not playing Julius Caesar. |

Ive got tickets for Imperium in Jan. Seems to be selling very well. Yes, when RSC shows sell well in advance they bump the prices of the remaining tickets on all days up to weekend levels. So The Hypocrite is now £55 instead of the original £37, for example. |
