Not sure how I feel about this one. I'm glad I went, and looking back the play feels stronger and more cohesive than it did when I was in the middle of it, but it could have been much better. Imogen Stubbs was superb as the sad, drunken mother, and Lydea Perkins was an excellent Lolita (not a subtle play, this one) but with better timing/direction there could have been a lot of comic moments that as it was largely fell flat. Plus, despite being in a nice front row, front facing seat, my view was blocked several times by one of the actors standing still for long spells in front of me. I'd guess the side seats were actually a better option, and they seem to be selling less well, so if you're thinking of going (it's running for one more week) I'd grab one of them.
Approximately 85 minutes run time, so good for an early night.

I know work's work but genuinely surprised to see actors like Michael Brandon and Imogen Stubbs (I know she isn't with Sir Trev but still) at a theatre like this and for it to be selling so badly. Is it price? Lack of awareness? The play?

Not a masterpiece of a play, but ok with a real good ensemble cast with an outstanding Imogen Stubbs. Half empty - shame! It's too good for it!
