I've struggled to find a top 5, but 1) second time at Old Friends 2) Standing At the Sky's Edge 3) Frankenstein (Northampton Royal Theatre) 4) Trainspotting Live (Edinburgh Fringe - I had seen it originally back in 2016) 5) Opening Night

Best was Twelfth Night at The Orange Tree
I also really enjoyed the revival of The Silver Cord at The Finborough

I've still got 2 shows to see but know they won't make the top 5, so here goes. In no particular order
2 strangers carry a cake across New York Hello Dolly Avenue Q concert Something Rotten concert Pippin concert.
It was definitely the year of concerts for me and if it was a top 10 poll then a few more would be there. And if I had to pick a number 1 from my top 5 then Something Rotten would win as it was the best thing, by far, I've seen this year.

I don't see Oedipus or Cat on a Hot Tin Roof until the end of the month but until then here are my five:
Picture of Dorian Gray (Haymarket) A View from the Bridge (Ustinov Bath) Mnemonic (the National) Forsyte Saga (Park) Giant (Royal Court)
I wish this was a top ten as I would also add the People, Places & Things revival (Trafalgar), Alma Mater (Almeida), The Years (Almeida), The Cabinet Minister (Menier) and Roots (Almeida).
The biggest clunkers were London Tide at the National, Romeo and Juliet at the Duke of York's and Juno and the Paycock at the Gielgud.
