Taking a page out of hannechalk 's book to make this thread for 2025.
My 2025 resolution is definitely to book less West End shows and instead cough up the cash I usually spend for more expensive tickets in London, on cheaper seats outside of London in local theatres or even abroad for new shows I haven't seen. I haven't left the country for the past few years so I feel like I need to go about and see more.
I'm hoping to go to Australia to catch the shows there (Beetlejuice is the major one. I won't go unless I can secure tickets for that.)

I have 3 resolutions for the new year: 1. Do not book an overload of shows. I skipped way too many shows and ended up skipping a few of them just because I was exhausted by life. Probably means I'll have to book closer to the day than I'm used to with my FOMO but its okay. 2. Get used to cheaper seats. I've spent way too much money on trying to get the "best" seat all the time. i need to learn to just get in the door with a decent and cheaper seat. 3. Stop being so critical of shows and trying to critique them. I learnt from my first trip to Starlight (of 3) that you can have fun at shows that you may need find "good". I rated Starlight 4* even though I know its not the strongest show. I need to start letting my hair down like that more next year.

My main theatre related resolution is to try and see 52 new shows, this year I will have done 29 shows so I think it's doable.
I would like to tick off more theatres I've not been to, this year I went to the Troubadour and the Orange Tree but I want to go to others like the Bush and Southwark Playhouse and perhaps visit to a regional UK theatre that's not in London.

Certainly more undiscovered venues, no FOMO (be less bothered with the big name casts and more with the creatives you care about), no skimping on smth you really wanna see from a good seat, being more open-hearted and embrace new things.

Don’t book on “eye catching” casting. Only book on the playwright and the director! A great actor cannot turn a sows ear into a silk purse! Of course I may not achieve this!

Mine will be to reach 200 shows for the year if I can. I think I'll get to around 190 this year so I just need to put that little bit more effort in next year 🤣

My resolution will be to see more shows less... i.e. See a broader range of productions fewer times. I tend to get "hooked" on shows and binge on day seats etc and often wonder what I am missing out on as a result of seeing some things several times.

As proved by Juno and the Paycock which I booked for Rylance. I’m gonna have to use all my knowhow and it ain’t a half of some of you guys here to find stuff that is quality but affordable. I will be looking at the smaller venues, Jermyn St, The Park and I’ve just booked the Young Vic for Little Foxes. And I will checking out public transport to Richmond 🤪

Dry as dust copycat productions can sod off.
I like music theatre, shakespeare's comedies and sureal or physical theatre bits and pieces so I'll stick to these
Im glad musicals now release tracks beforehand, most appear to be bland pop. I dont listen to pop so why should i put up with bland pop in the theatre ?

Or to quote parsley1 in the Waiting for Godot thread: “A sh*t play will still be a sh*t play Your favourite actor ain’t gonna change that”

I enjoy theatre so much that my resolution is to continue going as often as humanly possible with absolutely no changes whatsoever!
Usually hit 100 a year but sometimes that'll include the same shows over and over and over.
I resolve to change nothing! Budget, responsibility and common sense can go to Hell!
