I overheard that this is looking at the Coliseum for a run next year. Not sure which version specifically, but I'd assume the Broadway one given the size of the venue?

Really!!!
We have had so many false flags on here recently like a friend of a friend said, for example the Burlesque thread.
A ‘reliable source’ has already said that Billy Eliot is going there next year.
Time will now tell.

Someone I spoke to recently also said Billy Elliot after an ENB thing after Nutcracker will go into the Coli lol
ENO are basically broke so anything they bring in will be designed to make as much money as possible

Multiple things in discussions for next year's Coli summer slot - this could well be one of them.

Gatsby is indeed going to the Coliseum. April/May next year That was a quick change..!
Is Billy Elliot tour stop still happening? Was convinced it was going in with a blown up set for the Coli and then will go straight on tour being "straight off the West End" after a short few ENB things before the summer.
Either way, very glad this might be happening. Would much prefer this to another Billy Elliot

Yes I also definitely saw a post saying this wasn’t happening and Billy Elliot was going to the Coli.

This will.. sadly … be the current Broadway version- not the ART one.
Running for 6 months from April

Please tell me it’s true? The Broadway version of The Great Gatsby is coming to London? 🥹 Will Eva Noblezada be in it? Honestly, this would be all my dreams come true.

If true, great news as I really enjoyed the music. All we need is for Jeremy Jordan to come over with it.

Seems an odd choice for such a massive venue, unless they have some names attached.

Seems an odd choice for such a massive venue, unless they have some names attached. Agree. And really not sure there is the same interest in the title here that there is in the US. The score is OK. But like Some Like It Hot, it sounds pleasant enough while you listen, but I couldn't hum a single tune at the end. And didn't have a massive (any) urge to listen again.

If Eva Noblezada is in it, the demand will be there. 😋 I will buy tickets for everyone I know. 😂 My Green Light is such an epic song! And The Past is Catching Up to Me and Beautiful Little Fool. I guess there’s not as many uptempos but Roaring On does grow on you!

Disappointed it's not the ART version but will go and see this anyways to see what it's about.
I imagine the two stars will have to come over. It'd be a no-brainer unless they cast new people specifically to cater to the UK audience.

Agree they'll need to cast someone to get bums on seats. That said I think there is an in built audience at that venue as a lot of musicals I thought might struggle have done fine once they've opened....

Bringing the original leads over would appeal to the theatre fans, but that wouldn't be enough to sell whole run in such a big venue. May sell a few thousand tickets, but that's it.

Seems an odd choice for such a massive venue, unless they have some names attached. I think their billionaire backer just wanted to hit the West End before the ART production (unfortunately) so probably doesn’t care how big the Coliseum is.
