Had the 2018 recording of Songs for a new world on repeat since Sunday.
Album is not quite as good as Sunday, but still amazing!

Me and My Girl. I'm not quite sure how I ended up on it, but I'm enjoying it! It's quite light, so easy to have on in the background.
It has a good overture too. I could quite happily listen to an album just of overtures actually — I really like they play with the music and instruments in them.

In a moment of sheer boredom last week I put Frozen 2 on Disney+ and ‘Show Yourself’ has shown itself to me. ‘Into the Unknown’ is already a banger (more the Panic! version than Idina) but ‘Show Yourself’ has layers and is really quite lovely.

I have never been a fan of Chicago seen the stage production several times both in the West End and tour. It was never a West End musical and more of a tourist trap IMHO. I have never seen the Oscar winning movie?
Anyway listening to Elaine Paige a lot on BBC sounds and can listen to the same episode several times. A song got played I wasn’t aware of and it blew me away and this song is ‘I Move On’ from the Chicago movie. Has this song ever been incorporated in the the stage production? It is the best song from the show.

It is the best song from the show. I might be wrong but I think ‘I move on’ is the song from the credits of the film, it’s not actually in the film if that makes sense. You should watch the film though, I think it’s brilliant. |

Never thought I'd say this but I'm currently listening to Gary Barlow!!! I know!.
Music Played by Humans.
Its rather good and a real mix of material and styles with some duets.
Quite uplifting.

I have a rule that I can't listen to the soundtrack of a show until I've seen it live (so haven't listened to anything new since March!).
But I have an ongoing Spotify playlist that I've added the best songs from all the shows and films I've seen. I realised there is at least 1 song in every show that I skip so it made sense to make a playlist of highlights rather than dozens of full albums. So I just put that on random a few times a week and reminisce. It's 116 hours long! I didn't realise I'd seen quite so much 😂

Just downloaded the netflix ‘Prom’ soundtrack for the drive to work. There do appear to be lots of songs sung by Corden so it might not last long.
NB Lasted 3 songs.

Strangely, I thought James Corden vocally was actually ok. I get the feeling his whole performance is going to be very offensive though 😬

My Spotify Wrapped tells me that I have mostly been listening to the Musik, Prince of Egypt and Phantom cast recordings which doesn't surprise me, but does give me an excellent new playlist exactly in the order that I love the songs I listen to!
