I'm the queen of the caaaaastle! I ain't sayin' I'm a gold digger... but check my prenup, and go figure. (Today in "things that are fun to sing waiting at traffic lights with your windows down...")

Currently listening to the original West End cast recording of City Of Angels. First time ever! Enjoying it a lot! Oh I love that recording!! When Roger Allam says, "When was the last time you didn't get your way?" I melt a little bit.

Currently obsessing over the Hello Again movie cast recording (after watching the bizarre movie itself).

Gave ‘Six’ another go the other day on the way to a meeting and haven’t had it off since (fnar fnar). As cheesy and cheap as it sounds, it has something and I can imagine it being quite something live onstage. Hadn't realised it was out and now listening on repeat Sounds like they were really going for the Hamilton vibe!

When Roger Allam says, "When was the last time you didn't get your way?" I melt a little bit. Sings "My boss is quite the ladies' man, and that's my biggest gripe! 'Til I showed up, he'd never hired a girl 'cause she could type!" (hee, hee). Also, if you like black humour, the whole lyric to "All Ya Have To Do Is Wait" still makes me laugh.

Currently listening to the original West End cast recording of City Of Angels. First time ever! Enjoying it a lot! I love that recording but there is something that really bugs me every time I hear it. At the very end of 'Funny' Martin Smith sings That I can't laugh, anymore. But laugh sounds like Lass. I can't unhear it. I wish they could have re-recorded it. On the whole, I much prefer it to the OBCR.

Several at the moment:
Canadian version of Sunset Boulevard: marvellous Japanese version of Aspects of Love: quirky but lovely (still ALW’s finest score for me) National’s A Little Night Music: gorgeous The Prom: deliciously camp

Interestingly, on first listen recently, I wrote off Beetlejuice and Tootsi as being fairly samey and bland but I’m enjoying both a lot more now. Tootise has a few catchy songs with witty lyrics and I’m loving ‘Won’t Let You Down’ and ‘unstoppable’. With Beetlejuice I’m liking ‘That Beautiful Sound’ and ‘Invisible’ with a well arranged Day O too!
If/when Tootsie transfers I’ll definitely see it.

Witches of Eastwick. Thanks to 6 months free Apple music I am listening to all the stuff I've wanted to hear but not necessarily buy.

Just listening to The Drowsy Chaparone. Not heard the music since seeing it in the west end years ago during its short run. Listening now reminds me how much fun it was. It was absolutely hilarious and watching EP sending herself up was genius. I think you have to be a real musical fan to get it which was probably part of its downfall as jo public just wouldn't have a clue what it was all about. Would make a great Christmas revival at The Menier.

Recently I was trying to find something that Jenna Russell had sung similar to Bridges of Madison County in style to feel a little more confident that she'll be able to handle the role and I came across her singing Another Winter in a Summer Town from Grey Gardens, which I sadly managed to completely miss, so I've been obsessed with the Broadway Cast Recording recently (and I already loved Christine Ebersole's voice from the little I'd heard so this was a treat to discover!).

Disco Sondheim! Not at all camp. 😁 Cant wait for it. There was a disco version of Sweeney Todd years ago. But it will never be as good as Disco Ethel Merman. An all time classic.

Aida. Love the music 😍 Also listened to Annie Get Your Gun too recently - I’d love to see a revival of that in the West End!

Every time we get in the car my partner puts on The Cher Show, which we are gutted we missed, and Six is always a constant for me on shorter journeys.
When I have a long trip I try to listen to a full show in its entirety, as so many shows I only listen to a select few songs. With City of Angels coming back I should really give that a listen, would people recommend the OBC or the OLC recording?

I prefer the OLC mainly because its the cast i saw, and i find the variety in their voices gives them all distinct characters.
