Idea nicked from the Bake off thread, I’m just wondering what is your favourite British show from the last 10 years?
Mine is Operation Mincemeat.
Benjamin Button, Flowers for Mrs Harris and You are here deserve nods
Standing on skys edge, does not have an original score and so its out. Hex and Berlusconi are really not deserving of anything at all!

Off the top of my head, either Benjamin Button or Tammy Faye. Oh, or Groundhog Day. I'd be hard pushed to choose between them.

I would say Tammy Faye or Groundhog Day, but then the definition of "British" musical becomes a little bit hazy with both of those considering their writing teams.

I'm not sure why being a jukebox musical would exclude a show from this!
Standing at the Sky's Edge is at the top of my list. There's some other great examples in this thread.
I'm aware that I have major recency bias for Cake- whilst I definitely wouldn't say it's one of the best musicals, Champagne Dreams is one of my favourite British musical theatre songs of the past few years

I'm a big fan of seeing new musicals when I can, after all without new material there'd be nothing to revive!
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is right up there at the top. Storytelling through music at its best. No debate 😉 The only show in nearly 40 years of theatre going with my husband where we've both turned to each other in the interval and agreed that we *had* to see it again. Booked the next day to see the 5-hander at Southwark Borough again the following week. Back three times to Elephant last year. And will be at the Ambassadors next week bringing family and friends who feel the same along with some first-timers too.
I digress...
Others that have stayed in my memory, all for totally different, but good, reasons:
Eugenius - it appealed to my inner 80s geek!
The Grinning Man - haunting story and music
Operation Mincemeat - laughed until I cried. Brilliant
This Is My Family - it literally was my family! Can't remember much the music and to my knowledge there's no recording but would really like to see this again
Broken Wings - epic score and harmonies
Fiver - quirky and catchy
The Wicker Husband - folk genre again from Darren Clark so it gets a thumbs up from me
My Son's a Queer... - from the heart, lots of' laugh/cry' moments
Flowers for Mrs Harris - so beautifully staged
Calendar Girls the Musical - I've been in a production of the play so had to see this!
The Stationmaster - a beautiful score
