Is Drew McOnie directing? I would assume so since this is his debut season.

Finally! Now we need a proper revival of Sunday and Into the woods. Funilly enough the last revival of Into The Woods was at Regents Park and the last time I saw a show there. The 2nd act was cancelled due to heavy rain and as it was towards the end of the run I wasn't able to return. So never saw act 2 and our unpredictable weather has put me off seeing anything there since. However I might need to make an exception for Might Music.

Into the Woods is the only production I’ve not seen in its entirety at RPOAT (a pity as it was one of the best), and I go pretty much every year without fail. Give it a go.

I love ALNM, and suspect it would work beautifully outdoors on a Summers night. I guess booking for early on is a plan then there’s time to reschedule?

You should have a credit on your account for that ticket then alece10 ?

The perfect show for this theatre (as well as being one of the best structured and best written musicals ever). I'm surprised it has taken them this long.
Mind you, it'll be interesting to see how they stage the words 'the sun won't set...' while the sun is literally setting!

Next year is already proving to be very expensive for me. As in every ALNM thread, I politely request Jo Riding. And if Hadley Fraser would like to take a stab at Carl-Magnus, to quote Mo'Nique, I would like to see it.

Yes ”5.10.1 If a show is cancelled or abandoned because of the weather, you will be entitled to exchange your ticket for seats or spaces available with the nearest value to your original ticket (rounded-up) at any other show at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in our main theatre repertoire (excluding films and one-off live music and comedy shows which are not cancelled because of the weather), subject to availability. There is no time limit on exchanging tickets in this way.” I think you will need to be able to tell them the date of the performance that was cancelled.

Never understood why Jo Riding gets called out for so many parts. I’ve seen her in four shows that I can recall and she’s been decidedly average in all of them.

Oh I'd argue she's top 3 interpreters of Sondheim's work performing in musicals today - her Sally in Follies was a performance for the ages, and I always find her to be a stand out in whatever she's in.
This would be lovely at Regent's Park - I keep hoping the ENO will do it in their summer slot with a big star but it hasn't materialised so I'll take a classy Open Air production (with Jo as Charlotte and I wouldn't be against Sam Spiro as Desiree, but would also like to see Tamsin Greig take a shot at it)

I so hope this is true BUT ive heard about a big Broadway musical which is planned to be the summer musical at OAT next year. I’m not sure there’s anyway they can do both of these

Would make sense to have this as a shorter run and then the big, household name musical to cover the cost of the summer programme. Bit like how CFT scheduled Assassins followed by The Sound of Music last summer.

Not so, according to Lauren King at Regent's Park Open-Air Theatre when I was in touch with her today...
