I loved this. The difficult concept of blending three stories simultaneously into one coherent whole was so well executed and the acting excellent. In fairness, anything with Anne Marie Duff directed by Marianne Elliott will get my attention (St Joan still remains a highlight from 2007). The space was used so well, and despite fears that this would be misery piled on misery, this was a thought provoking and relevant production. Opportunities lost, the influence of mothers (parents), trapped by ones' circumstances, the next generation, but hope beyond this... A rich seam of everyday life was mined to perfection (groan).
