The pose!
I'm already booked for this anyway. I will go with an open mind. The dancing should be spectacular at least.

Still looking forward to the tour because I love this show a lot. Unusual casting though. And yeah, that photo looks a bit like one from a fancy dress shop catalogue. 'Flapper girl dress, wig and headband' type thing. Still, I wonder who else will be appearing?

I was going to ask if Joanne Clifton could sing. And then I remembered that Amanda Holden was in the original London production.

I would imagine that pic was very hurriedly pulled together for the announcement and the final "look"will be much much better. Hopefully

Also it seems that Gary Lloyd is no longer attached to the project. Racky Plews (American Idiot, Footloose) will now direct/choreograph. More auditions (last minute, so it seems) being held next week and the pay category is interestingly listed as non-equity, which for a 'Number 1 UK Tour' (which they are advertising it as) is truly shocking.

Michelle Collins cast as Mrs Meers For the first 6 weeks/venues of the tour I think? Good. So she'll be gone by the time it hits Manc. I don't like her. She smirks instead of smiling properly which I find highly suspicious. I wonder who we'll get for the rest of the tour? Patsy Palmer? Letitia Dean? Pam St Clement maybe?

I actually don't mind Michelle Collins at all. Never seen her in a musical so no idea if she's can sing or not (what was she like in Chitty?) but I really enjoyed her in Coronation Street!
She seems a very nice lady and she follows me on Twitter!

I just LOVE this musical so much and want to see it done as well as possible. The talent in the OBCR (which I adore!) is off the scale, and given the iffiness of soap stars in musicals, I think being apprehensive about this casting is understandable. They might be fabulous and blow everyone away, but we've got nothing to judge really. Especially nervy as no actors known for musical theatre have been announced yet. After a couple of press disasters around non-mt celebs in musicals, I'd like to think that the general public are starting to get a bit weary of 'so-and-so's mom who died on Hollyoaks a few years ago', or whoever, turning up in touring shows. Of course if we get a young Gavin Creel type for Jimmy then all is forgiven!

I think Lesley Joseph would be a decent Mrs Meers. Hoping this production comes to Northern Ireland.

I've just googled it and it turns out she has already played Mrs Meers. Maybe I already knew that subconsciously.

Bet ticket sales are booming now?! Was just going to say this - producers are probably all jumping for joy!! They can now and will certainly advertise this as saying "starring Strictly Come Dancing 2016 Winner Joanne Clifton". Should boost sales as I was looking at Wimbledon and hardly any of the theatre is sold!! This season has really boost her career and profile

This tour just looks... yeah. Don't get me wrong, it is a show I hage wanted to see since it was the show that really shot Sutton Foster to stardom. But ticket sales have been horrible up until now, its embarassing really. I hope to god her win will sell a few more tickets or I feel some heavy discounts or even cuts of some of tour dates may be in order.

I believe some of the performances in Brighton at least had been selling quite strongly anyway

I'm tempted to book it to see Joanne Clifton - I'm not a huge fan of the musical but if I can get a cheap ticket then might be worth a trip.
Hopefully Jo isn't too badly injured - she was limping at the end of their jive tonight!

How hilarious the winning dancer won't be doing the Strictly tour because of her commitment to Millie.
