One of my best ever theatre experiences Topped only by all the expressions on the faces of the people who had gone just to see CB 😅 She is a genius and so is KM Although her film career isn’t perfect She always uses her talent and position to appear in stage shows which challenge and provoke I suppose people prefer her to appear in the Lion King Or Cabaret She remains a rare actor with integrity. Lucky you it was one of my worst Yet people still fall into the trap endlessly of booking On the name of an actor You would think it would be a lesson

Her latest film has been totally ripped apart by critics
Apparently she signed up to it due to “covid madness” “Flailingly inept” I do wonder if her peak is behind her

Her latest film has been totally ripped apart by critics Apparently she signed up to it due to “covid madness” “Flailingly inept” I do wonder if her peak is behind her Like a lot of actors she's in four or five projects a year. Every so often one is a complete dud; several of them are forgettable. What is important is the small number of great things she's in. It's absurd to speculate on her future on the basis of one mediocre film. She's in forthcoming films or TV directed by Jim Jarmusch, Alfonso Cuaron, Steven Soderbergh and Luca Guadagnino. She'll be doing great thing for many years to come.

When you’re a double Oscar and however much else winner, I’m sure you’re not worrying too much. I for one am looking forward to her and Jamie Lee Curtis being silly gooses in Borderlands, and those kinds of movies always seem like they are more fun to make than to actually watch.

Hoping the prices are’t too outrageous. I didn’t pay over the odds (by modern standards) for Isabelle Huppert’s Mary Said What She Said at the Barbican earlier this year.

As much as I'd love to go, I'm not signing up for a membership on the off chance that there might be a possibility of me maybe getting reasonably priced tickets. The fact we even have to consider doing that at all is absurd. I can see ticket prices skyrocketing into the hundreds easily.

Will be in the balcony, but its fine from there ( if far!)

I wonder if the pre-sale will be before or after Barbican members'. Doesn't seem to be much of a gap if after. Update: the link says 9 October with no time specified.

To be fair to the Barbican, their £59 scheme gives 20% discount on two tickets and waived booking fees, so not good for a solo theatregoer, but a couple need to spend only about £145 each during the membership year to break even. You don't need to renew membership until the next booking you want to make, so it costs less than £59 per calendar year. With Totoro, Kate and Seagull, we've made it work for us this year solely on the discount. The priory booking, Members' Lounge access and other benefits have been bonuses.
