Show stop at 20:00; 30 minute wait then cancelled. The car carrying the Joads literally toppled over while they were pushing it around the stage. At first it looked "staged"......We've probably seen more technically problematic productions at the NT so this seemed strange. The pace prior to this was a little slow but engaging. I guess we'll be offered refunds.

Gosh! National having a bad day of it, with the tech crash leading them to push the Friday Rush back to 4pm too.

Gosh this isn't having much luck!
Is it a particularly technical production?

I'm booked to see this tomorrow and was just wondering were the official announcement has been that tomorrows show is cancelled. I've not had anything through yet and the tickets still show in my account.

I never received notification that the Wed performance had been cancelled. I was told when I turned up at the NT. I suggest calling in advance.

Also, while I'm here, I've been looking ahead at the booking calendar to potentially see this in September, and I've noticed that they are filming both performances on Weds 4th, and then the following day the Thursday evening performance is scheduled for 6:30 rather than 7. Any ideas why that might be? It's the date I was considering.

They all seem to be timed to kick off at 6.30 regardless of the production as far as I can tell.

Yes noticed this morning the performance was marked at canceled. Official email came at around 13:15 so hopefully that has been enough notice to most people going. Hoping the set is actually interesting enough to warrant this many early cancellation. All well having a car breaking down but surely that can't be the sole issue.

While I trust this guy's report of what he saw, remember that they seem to be doing a lot of work on this prior to restarting previews and the NT does give you until 24 hours beforehand to get ticket credit. So I wouldn't rush to decision yet.

I remember the Nuffield Theatre/Royal Derngate/West Yorkshire production from years ago
That was a nearly 3 hour slog to get through
