I tend to think of it more as a kids show, done by schools and community groups. Though it could be interesting to hear someone belt The Spark of Creation in that small space.

I love the OLC of Children of Eden and have dreamt of seeing it live for ages. Too bad I'm not in London during the brief run.
Personally I don't mind the 90s revivals at all - it was the time when I began to be really interested in musicals, but still missed out on many shows due to youthful lack of funds and general inability to travel as much as I do now. Wouldn't mind seeing Metropolis either.

I saw a very good Am Dram production of this a few years ago, however my ex was in it (maybe Noah?) and he really thought he could sing and murdered the part. And spoiled the show for so much so that I cringe whenever I hear mention of it.
I really don't know why no one ever told him he couldn't sing...

Was at the matinee today, really enjoyed it! The songs are catchy and the cast give it their all. Also the actor playing Adam is a total beefcake. I was as mad as God when Eve got him to eat the apple and put on some clothes.
The new theatre is still struggling without any air con. Even on a milder day like today, I was a total sweaty mess.

3 Sept off sale matinee and evening... It was showing "sold out" for both shows a couple of hours ago.
Yes, rebooked for another date. (Still have wonderful memories of the original London production.)

Saw the show tonight, and agree with the poster above - so hot in there! I was very disappointed when the actor playing Adam had to put on some clothes, and I'm sure he was too. Very good version of a good, but flawed show. I absolutely adore Children of Eden, but accept that it's an uneven show - the first ten minutes are very silly, and suffer in this production without the big stage-show a West End stage and budget would bring. But other than that, it's great. Key scenes are staged perfectly, and the cast are, in general, very good. The standout is undoubtedly Natasha O'Brien at Eve and Mama Noah, who is a total eye-magnet, full of charisma, a brilliant singer and totally believable in both her roles. Theatre was about two-thirds full tonight - I do hope it's selling well enough for the rest of the run. Highly recommended, do go and see it  |

Was also there tonight in the sauna - sat next to a fan thank God! They really need to sort that out.
Great show. Never saw the original but fascinated by the massive budget hits and misses from the 80s and 90s and have the OLC which is great so thought would check it out.
Very strong cast who give their all and a really charming production. Simple but effective design and very well lit. Also great to have a 4 piece band. My only complaint is that they should really mike the cast, there were moments where solos were drowned by the band. Is it particularly expensive? They do it at Southwark Playhouse and the Menier.
Anyway would really recommend! May go again.
As said above 2/3 full on a Saturday night. My ticket was only 15 quid and half of the people around me seemed to be friends of cast in there for free - no idea how this can make any money?

The theatre has air conditioning ducts, don't know why they don't hang some fans from the lighting area.
Oh Caiaphas thought tonight was cancelled and you were left without a show to see, so glad it was redeemable. Have to say you seem to love anything biblical?

I think it was a wise choice, even there, there were parts where I struggled to hear the singing (mainly the leads (and mainly the guy playing Father) in the ensemble numbers) |

Ah ok; yes I was right by the band. Wasn't sure if their sound was evened by speakers or if it was just coming directly from where they were. My impression was that it was the latter. To be fair I thought the cast did well to project over them most (but not all) of the time. Where 99% of musicals have mikes it's probably not a skill people need these days. But yes, the main improvement to this show would be a proper sound design. I felt the same when I saw Closer To Heaven at The Union. |
