It's heading to the stage in 2025 with Jason Manford in the title role. Announced on BBC Breakfast and it sounds like a Royo production and will premiere somewhere in the north.

It was a bit confusing at first as the presenters mentioned Broadway which didn't make any sense but when Dave said up north and then the west end it made far more sense.

Yes, I'm not entirely sure why he was on and it sounded like he shouldn't have announced it yet. No artwork, no mention of writers or a theatre. Not even a title although I'm assuming it will be Bank of Dave.
Also seems like he's doing Strictly this year!

I've started listening to old episodes of Rob Brydon's podcast, and on an episode from 2021 (I think?) Manford mentions that he's writing a musical with a co-writer... as no writers were mentioned here, maybe this was that project and Jason's very heavily involved?
