Lambert Jackson producing Jamie Muscato, Christine Allado and Rebecca Caine as Billy, Julie and Nettie.
How depressing the greatest score of all time is in the hands of people who can't do sound for sh*t.

Having finally seen the film recently and heard the full wonderful score this show should have been an immediate book but as beingalive has noted its a lambert Jackson production and not worth the effort or cost and I am more than happy to wait for the next concert or production of this (or I expect just watch the film again). I will be grateful to lj productions for the mini concerts they did online over covid lockdown but any goodwill has been lost since then. But carousel it self has a stunning score, slight odd book but so many great songs and hopefully we will get staging again in the future which this score deserves.

How depressing the greatest score of all time is in the hands of people who can't do sound for sh*t. Came here to see what’s been said. I love musicals in concert I go to almost all of them, these specific producers havent got one right. They should spend more time and money on the sound department than they do on their fancy photoshoots then maybe the audience would get a chance to hear what was going on. To be fair to concerts, some of them really are brilliant. Cool Rider/Deathnote/Bonnie and clyde/Your Lie In April/Love Never dies all really fantastic actually but not produced by the same people that gave us the cringey bad Bare and Diana. One of the best scores, as this poster said it is depressing that this show has been given to them. Where is the quality control?!?! FML.

Is the company known for poor shows? Almost universally applauded for them!

Head to the Bare thread for the horror stories.
They are hit and miss, as a large number of these concerts producers are (apart from Fourth Wall I'd argue), and I'm very bored of having to hedge my bets on whether they are going to be hit (Side Show and JRB) or miss (Diana and Bare being the prime examples)
They seem to be completely unable to handle sound when more than 2 people are singing at once, and this is one of the best scores ever written so...I'd like to be able to hear it - too much to ask?

And in a venue which (as far as I know) these producers haven’t used before
So I’d expect the sound to be even worse as they won’t have a clue what they’re at

I wonder if they’ll bring back a narrator for this too, replacing the gorgeous book… wouldn’t put it past them at this point. And I also don’t think Jamie is right for this, we should have a proper baritone, although I imagine Christine will be lovely

Having Patricia Routledge in 2019 at Cadogan was fine as there was a reason for it, but I'd be annoyed if that happened here.
And yes, Bradley Jaden would have been much better suited to Billy.

I’ve still not got over the awful Regent’s Park production. Even Jo Riding didn’t save that one for me

I’ve still not got over the awful Regent’s Park production. Even Jo Riding didn’t save that one for me It made some interesting decisions - I didn't hate the relocation if I'm honest, but having the greatest duet in musical theatre history BELTED was quite simply offensive... Through no fault of Carly Bawden's I should add - she would make the most beautiful Julie in a traditional Carousel.

On the website and booked within about 2 minutes!
Very aware LJ can be hit and miss with sound, but I’ll risk it for a chance to see Jamie as Billy!

Hope you can hear him too! If their track record is anything to go by he'll be fine as long as he isn't singing with anyone else. LOL
