On reflection, I don't think this show's for me.
Somebody gave me a copy of the Broadway cast recording and I don't like it.
I also saw it at The Other Palace and I didn't enjoy it either.

The ArtsEd version of this was one of the last things I saw before the theatrical pause of 2020. The performances were good and a lot of the cast have gone on to greater things, but the show itself did nothing for me. Still, I can tell there's a fanbase and perhaps there was a hidden depth I missed.

I LOVED this at The Other Palace, I listen to the songs all the time. This is exciting news! (Don't like the Lippa version)

Wasn't this one of the first things at The Other Palace after it rebranded?
I think it's the biggest (in relative terms) set I have ever seen in there.
Only time I have seen Frances Ruffelle (of Starlight Express and Eurovision fame) live - she was great.
Can't remember a single song but do remember enjoying it - I'd go again!

I think it was the first show. I got 5 pound tickets for the previews and very cheap for after the prevoews, too. It was great fun and they had to cancel it for a couple of shows near the end as they didn't have any understudies I think. I really liked it as a whole in terms of the music, but yes, not any songs I go back to. It was interesting that they put the interval in. |
