Good spot It's mentioned here - www.nytimes.com/2019/01/03/arts/spoleto-festival-2019.htmlPresumably these US dates are prior to the UK tour, assuming these are the UK touring productions. If true I think this will be a bit annoying for people hoping to tick off the relatively rarely performed Pericles!

They do have a thematic watery link - so it makes sense as a trio from that perspective
Curious that TN is repeated from last year (though I imagine a different production so as not to limit audience numbers in the venues they visit on an annual basis)

Oh ugh, I hated the surprise element. I can see it being fun for the indecisive, but I wasn't able to make the few dates where they fixed which shows would be performed and wasn't willing to risk accidentally seeing the same production more than once, so my nearest touring venue only got one ticket fee out of me rather than the usual three. I hope they've fixed the balance a little more so the audience vote performances take up much less of the overall schedule and there are more opportunities to book the specific plays. It wouldn't even be so bad if, on a two show day, they were willing to say to the evening audience "we already did Play 1 this afternoon so you'll be picking between Play 2 and Play 3 only this evening", I'd book both performances on a single day if they did, but I asked them about it last year and they were very clear that they never even fiddled the vote and had often performed the same play twice in one day.

That would be annoying, but you'd like to think that if enough people did book to see two shows on a single day that would inevitably mean that the first show would be at a substantial disadvantage by the time the later vote comes along. But I dare say if there are enough people who only book for one, and one of the plays is considerably more popular, then it's bound to happen. It must get tedious for the cast too.

Most excruciatingly painful afternoon of my life. I liked that production very much. I believe it was Dominic Drumgoole's final production at the SWP. The reunion of Pericles and Marina was incredibly moving. Some companies have been messing around with Pericles, making kids' productions, etc. But I thought Dromgoole's production was excellent.

It was the SWP pit seating that caused me the pain. I totally understand. I never go unless I can get a Lower Gallery, back row aisle seat, fairly near the center. Which is hard to do. If it's something I really want to see, I just keep checking and hope seat 27 or 9 (I think it is) will come up. Those seats have the back wall to lean on; and the aisle makes them a bit more comfortable. But they're hard to come by.

The Globe has tweeted several times that they are about to start tweeting details, TimeOut has got in first and tweeted
.. which is a slightly dull list TBH if that's the full thing, other than Bartholomew Fair.

Henry IV - Michelle Terry as Hotspur, Hal played by Sarah Amankwah, Falstaff played by Helen Schlesinger
Nice production images - wonder if this reflects the nature of the staging
They are titling them Henry IV part 1 or Hotspur, Henry IV part 2 or Falstaff, and Henry V or Harry England. 15% off if you book all three in a three play day

Bartholemew Fair is in the Sam Wanamaker - www.shakespearesglobe.com/whats-on-2018/bartholomew-fair"London’s most notorious fair comes to life this summer, spilling out of the candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse into the wider Globe site, in Ben Jonson’s raucous comedy." which sounds like a promenade production? Shared cast with Merry Wives of Windsor.

Interesting there are no new plays. Is this the first time?

As You Like it is a return of the 2018 production. Midsummer Night's Dream directed by Sean Holmes. Also to be announced - "Women & Power Season" - www.shakespearesglobe.com/whats-on-2018/women-and-power. Possibly this is where any new writing will be? If not, I think as above this is the first time they've not done any. But maybe related to their financial problems? Globe on tour will be the previously announced Comedy of Errors, Pericles & Twelfth Night "At certain venues, we will be offering audiences the change to vote for the play they want to see in our exhilarating Audience Choice performances." so sounds like they are not 100% sticking to the audience choice idea.

Happy to see John Leader, Steffan Donnelly and Jonathan Broadbent in the Ensemble. Very excited about Shakespeare Within the Abbey and I will probably see A Midsummer Night's Dream because it's my favourite play by Will but the rest of the season is so-so to me. Oh, and Robin Hood-themed Read Not Dead looks nice (I obviously don't mean certain people in the photos... *blushes*)

I will probably book for the Henrys trilogy day as i am a sucker for that sort of thing. Bartholemew Fair should be interesting but its all a bit ho hum. Have to say not surprised about the cost cutting.

I wonder what ticket sales were like last year? Did that have an effect? Seeing how a lot of the productions have two directors and the histories cast are called ‘players’, I’m assuming they are following the rehearsal process they followed last year. Cast the actors, give them the roles later, and then make it up as we go along with no one single overarching vision. Confessedly I didn’t see as you like it and Hamlet last year after seeing the reviews, but this still doesn’t inspire confidence in me When I saw the donmars Henry IV I felt Sophie Stanton gave a good Falstaff, but she didn’t embody the role. There’s something about the gruff, larded, vain, ruffian Falstaff that a man can truly personify. I’d be happy for Helen Schlesinger to prove me wrong, but she’s got a hell of a task. Unlike Michelle Terry who is perfect for Hotspur. She can give a fiery performance like Jade Anouka Except for Bartholomew Fair (always wanted to see that) Ill wait for reviews before buying a ticket.

They only announced 6 tour venues when the season was launched last January, although one of them was Oxford - www.shakespearesglobe.com/uploads/files/2018/01/digi_2018_season_launch_final.pdfNo idea on ticket sales last year - apparently they had 92% capacity and a £1.3 million surplus in 2017, Rice's last year. Got the impression that as usual the Shakespeares sold very well (particularly Othello of course) and the new plays didn't. Wonder if they have lost income from memberships too? Perhaps with a swathe of members leaving as a result of Emma Rice's changes, and another bunch leaving as a result of her departure?

They've introduced max bag sizes as well just in case anyone is like me and has 3 meals and a complete set of water proofs in their rucsac, won't be able to do that anymore though do wonder just how many people could you turn away on that basis? They've a small cloakroom but for coats and small bags only. I suppose this is probably a security thing but if you're a groundling there are rather a lot of eventualities to cover especially if you're seeing more than one thing and spend hours in the queue as well.
