This is literally booked into the Gielgud already. You’ve heard a rumour that is wrong No one should doubt Mr B... Are you hearing October-November? Yes this will open at the Gielgud before Xmas

Mr. B said the Gielgud in the fall and he hasn’t failed us yet… I don't think you'd ever catch him using the term "in the fall".

Is there a closing date announced? Or would it be open-ended (not likely, but thought i'd ask anyhow)

Seeing as this is a transfer from Chichester, I would’ve liked to have seen it go back to Drury Lane so they could adapt it into a thrust stage (which was reported is now possible since the restoration), but understand why they opted for the Gielgud.

Just mentioned this to a work colleague and she asked me what it is based on?
Can't find anything on the website to say who is playing Oliver?

Although it's the title of the show, it's usually the least important casting and will be a group of kids sharing the role.

Lipkin will need to be on top form to erase my memory of Steve Furst's exquisite Fagin in Leeds.

It's a one and done show for me really. The cast is excellent but not really enough to make me see it again

Only want to see Simon if I'm honest - rest of the cast is very dull.

No, only a play in Richmond anf that royal comedy (neither of which sold all that well), and a couple panto seasons. I think cinderella proved she didn't have the star power people assumed, that coupled with her problematic social media presence hasn't helped her. But now she's married with a kid so maybe priorities are elsewhere now. She has been vocal in the past about Nancy being a dream role so I don't see someone mentioning it here as 'dragging her down'.

I know Bourne has directed his own dance-based work and choreographed the musicals of others, but has he ever directed a musical?

I don't know whether answering the first question is helpful or not. I suppose it depends on your feelings about Dickens! What other Dickens novels have been made into musicals?

The Mystery of Edwin Drood A Tale of Two Cities A Christmas Carol The Pickwick Papers No doubt some others have been adapted too.
