I saw this last week and it was really good! It's a new play by a working class playwright from Bradford. One of the main actors was just in Six and the two girls who were the leads were amazing!!

Kat Rose-Martin, the playwright, is also a really good actor. She acted Barrie Rutter off the stage in When We Are Married. Ruby Burtle, the maid, is supposed to be from Rotherham and her accent was spot on.
The world-famous Crucible Theatre has this scheme for early career creatives. Kat Rose-Martin was part of the first cohort. Whichever direction she takes, she's one to watch.

Her writing felt really realistic and the costumes and music were giving 2012 nostalgia

Having seen good reviews online I was already considering a visit so comments here have confirmed that the play & production themselves are worth it. I'm still hesitating, however, as after years of visiting the Finborough, I've become so tired of the whole ghastly experience that I'm reluctant to return. To be clear, the productions themselves are great but the location, lack of reserved seating meaning that if you're on your own, you have to queue for your seat at the earliest opportunity; being crushed or squeezed by "large" people too big for their share of space the theatre expects people to occupy; the grim toilets right down in the basement; the akwardness of having to wait in the pub downstairs if you don't want to drink (alcohol or otherwise) & the uninviting Earls Court area all combine to be pretty discouraging.

I usually go to the Sunday afternoon performances, and have a walk in Brompton Cemetery if I’m early and it’s not raining. There’s a cafe in the cemetery too. But I agree about the awkwardness of waiting at pub theatres if you’re a solo theatregoer and/or don’t want to drink. |

Yeah it is a bit uninviting with the pub closed but it was worth it in the end- buying drinks to bring in at the offie felt very on theme with the nightclub lol |

Saw this the other week, had a brilliant time. The script comes off as very genuine and you can tell it draws a lot from the writer’s real life. I thought the two mains were so convincing as these fun loving teens trying to put off the future, and the other two actors did a great job of filling out the world with vibrant supporting characters. I fully recommend anyone who hasn’t already to go see it. A great time  |

Yeah my friends went on a Sunday and they had to wear masks but I don't think they checked covid passes or anything |

Hi showgirl, So sorry to read this. Obviously we can't do much about being in Earl's Court (though to be fair they're spending a lot of money on it now) or the toilets, but just to let you know that we reduced our capacity during Covid so you're less likely to be squashed anymore, the auditorium always opens half an hour before the show starts to give you lots of time to find the best seat, and we've just completely reupholstered and repaired all our seats and redecorated to give a nicer experience for our audiences.
